Yankee Jacks #77 2025

Oh yeah, knife content.

USPS is delayed yet again... Should have my ebony 77 on Monday. I'm not really diggin the richlite version but something is telling me I'm gonna regret not getting it if I let it slip by... I'm really on the fence with that one.

Not quite as nice as the Legendary Black Jack, but, still a very nice knife. If you missed the BJ, this would make an acceptable substitute.

Same here, mine has been moving through the network since last Thursday 🙄

Well I got the ebony today, along with a yellow rose 97! The pull strength on the main blade is just about the same on the 77 as it is on the 97 (with the 97 being what you would expect a 97 to be). Half stop to open on the 77 was ,in my opinion, even more weak than the 97 (even after flushing a couple times,).... However, the secondary blade on the 77 was quite a bit better and had a lot of snap from half stop to full open.
Maybe I just got one with a weak main spring? Has anyone else noticed the same kind of behavior on theirs? I'd consider sending it back but IDK what I would get back if I did. I know these are pretty sought after and wouldn't want to have a "s" version sent back to me. I don't plan on carrying this one anyways, just want the best version of what I paid for if that makes sense.
Fit and finish was excellent with the only exception being that the springs were both proud at half stop. Since this is my first 77, I'm not really sure if that is to be expected or not.
As far as the Richlite version goes, I'm off the fence and have one on the way (was up there for a whole 15 minutes lol). I'm hoping the main has more pop on that one than this ebony does. I like the pull weight from closed to half stop, just want more pop from half to open.20250317_172718.jpg

It seems there is some inconsistency on the W&T on these. I've heard of one other with not great action and a few others with good W&T.
Sorry to hear yours isn't great.

Well mine finally arrived and much like what was reported above, the action on the main is very disappointing. Out of the tube there is no opening snap with a pull of four. After flushing and oiling it still won't snap open on it's own. I can't believe they would let something like this past QC.
Pen blade is as you would expect with good action and snap. I think I will talk to my dealer and maybe GEC as this ain't right.

Great looking knife but functionally not so much.

After flushing and oiling It will open from here with a nudge but with a whimper of a snap.

That's about the same position on mine as well. Sorry yours turned out the same.

That’s a bummer, Steve. 🙁 I had a #93 (Ram Foot) from the recent run that closed like that.
