Yeah I'm rolling down Rodeo with a snark gun.

Hey Trade. Awesome looking float you had there. I got the opprotunity to do some floating with my cousins while im down here in Florida. One of the best times ive had in a kayak in my life. I never been in a kayak in the ocean before so when I saw a shark about 20 yards from me and the open ocean behind it, I was a little nervious at first. But man what a experience. We explored some little coves and fished off of a sandbar. Right behind our condo is thousands of acres of protected forest. (I call it swamp) we got to see a couple large snakes and a alligator. Wasnt able to get any pics of them, by the time I got my camera out, they had disappeared into the mangrove trees....

Kayaking out in the Mangroves is something else, ins't it? The wife and I had a chance to when we were down in FL. It was an absolute blast! We were about to take another loop through a different set of "tunnels," but a storm rolling through changed our minds pretty quickly.

Did you have a chance to slink down into the kayak to go through any tight spots under the trees and go into the forest a bit deeper?

That's a clinic on how to do it Todd. Looks like the Hunts are having a blast. I honestly believe there are few things in the world more relaxing than paddling through alligators.

Yeah, my cousin took a video of me laying down in the kayak to get through some low spots. I threatened to lay waste to the low branches by severing them with the mighty M-18 but they are protected so I did not.

Makes sense. Pointy objects have no business around my business.

I don't think anyone has any business stabbing their business but what they do with their business is their business and none of my business. Business.

On an unrelated note, for those firearms aficionados, I've discovered my wishlist is getting dangerously long. I'm curious about the forthcoming HK VP9, which looks to be potentially good competition for my beloved PPQ. I feel like I should have a 1911 in my collection, but can wait on that because I don't think I'll carry it. I do want a nice .22LR plinker, and really have my heart set on an MP5 clone, although maybe a pistol would go nicely, but I'm picky, and I really want one with a paddle release, and I don't think there ARE any like that. And I don't have a shotgun, or a bolt-action, or anything that can shoot at range. But then, I don't have anywhere to shoot at range. This whole logic thing sucks. Also, I want to have money for more Beckers, and that has to be the first priority. Duh. Also steel for making more blades. Why, oh why, does money not grow on trees, eh?

I haven't found anything bad about the Ruger 1911's and they are very reasonably priced. I had a lot of trouble with my Springfield Armory Operator (way more than anyone I've ever hear of) but SA replaced it with a new one, I have 500 rounds through it so far with no issues and that's without cleaning. I'm working my way up to 2000 consecutive rounds without cleaning to really put it through the ringer. The other day I hit a steel plate at 50 yards with it on the first try, a lot of that was probably luck and I couldn't duplicate it on the other (smaller) plates, but the gun is plenty capable. Of course you can't go wrong with a Colt either. 1911's are a fickle beast so expect to drop some coin.

To me, you can't not have a 1911 like you can't not have a 9.

Meh, I like them but I don't like paying for them. Gotta spend at least twice as much as a Glock, sometimes more, to get a gun that's about as good. And then having it customized gets expensive really fast. And you'd better find a guy that really knows his craft to do the work, or take a course and learn it yourself.

They may not be manly, but them fruity lady drinks is delicious.

Awesome pics! I get to have some woods time tomorrow too, going shooting at our ranch with my dad and uncle for his father's day outing... still can't find any .22 ammo though :(

Who just won the lottery? This guy.

Lee if you've got a Gander Mountain nearby run there now with money in hand.

For those that appreciate hand tools, and old world craftsmanship. No sound, but still a cool vid:

I really enjoyed watching this Warrior. Perfect video with my morning coffee. Made me want to get out and make something. :) Thanks for sharing.

I really love it when I read in the for sale area things like, "I think this is used" or "I think this is a......".

Quick-fire snarking: If you are going to "think" something is something you hope it to be, I'm going to think "I should" set the price for it, not you.

Mmm, nice pics fellas. Glad I'm near the water too now.

If your just hankering for something to shoot/buy a gun I'd say go find you a ruger 22/45. I am a huge fan of that firearm in any of its configurations. Any of you fellers who have been on snark enough have seen me rave incessantly about it. In my opinion (which is worth exactly what you paid for it) I think the ruger 22/45 is one if not the best .22 pistolas on the market. For a .22 plinker the 22/45 with a 6" bull barrel costs around 3 bills. They come in all sorts of barrel types, lengths, and styles. Otherwise I know your a AR builder/modder kinda guy and a ruger 10/22 has a lot of neat aftermarket stuff for pretty cheap. They have bullpup kits and even have gatling kits if you have mutiple 10/22s LOL. Other than that you can get a mossberg maverick 88 12 gauge shotty for under 200. They too have all sorts of aftermarket kits that you can throw on. The maverick 88 is like the Becker of shotguns. I've had mine for probably well over a decade and it has not skipped a beat. Shooting 12 gauge can be cheap, fun, and its just a good type of firearm to have around. You can buy a box of 100 bird shot shells for about 20 dollars. For a bolt action you can get a Mosin nagant for cheap and they also offer aftermarket stuff for them. IF you get a good rifle to begin with you can turn it into a nice little setup fairly cheap with just some simple mods. Just depends if the rifle barrel etc were good beforehand. Anyways I have already typed too much lol.

Damn, I'm drooling... The only one here is on the other side of town from my work. Maybe I am feeling a little sick right now though... cough...cough ;)

1600 rounds for $120 and they have 2 left... all the way across town. :( Have to decide whether to spend the cash and make a run or say screw it for tomorrow..

Excusenometry - now that is a great word and concept!

I guess the town has to figure into the equation. For CS, it isn't a big hassle.

Get up, reprobates. You're burning daylight.
I do my best work in the dark.

I laid down at 0500 and was back up at 0630.

Im no reprobate..... Re-probate... This means a fella thats got himself back on probation, amirite??? amirite??? :D
WW, you are a reprobate. It isn't a bad thing though, it just is what it is.

I've got some country style ribs soaking in brine. Going to throw them in the smoker later.
I'm on my way!

Oh, wait... I can't, I am going to Food Truck Friday this evening. Apparently I am being drug there.

Don't kid yourself. Those fruity drinks will sneak up on you and kick your ass.

I honestly believe there are few things in the world more relaxing than paddling through alligators.

The only thing that tops it as far as relaxation is having poisonous snakes flipped at you. But that really goes without saying.

Alright you malcontents, I need your help. Miss Angie has decided she wants a camping hammock rig too, so we need some advice and sources. Please post your wisdom here.

I just asked an honest question, my good man.:D

Fair enough

I don't think anyone has any business stabbing their business but what they do with their business is their business and none of my business.
Off to the quote thread with you!

Troof. Next time we're all together I'll have to whip us up a jug of JT's World-Famous Summer Hummers... tastes like a green popsicle, sneaks up like a ninja and POW! ...nap time.
