yellow bone handles. what are your thoughts on them?

They're ok. I certainly like them better than yellow synthetic.

I think I actually prefer yellow synthetic. The color seems to be all over the map on yellow bone, as it seems to soak up the dye differently on many parts of the slabs. While I like mottled colors in bone covers that are brown to amber, they don't appeal to me on yellow bone.

This one with jigged yellow bone from GEC is probably my favorite, with very even color nearly all the way to the bolsters.

Personally, I have one yellow Case Peanut. Not really interested in owning any more, although I might consider a yellow sod buster. Aside from that, not too fond of the color.

But that is just a personal opinion. A lot of people like yellow handled knives. Good for them. Variety is really what makes our hobby interesting. All tastes and preferences are good for the hobby. :)

I like 'em a lot. The yellow rose series from GEC is a favorite, though I much prefer smooth bone to their jigged bone version. It's a great color, IMO & reminds me of Corvette yellow.

I am impressed with the smooth yellow bone on my GEC #76. Only a slight variation in color on the edge of one side near the liner not over 1/4 inch in length from the bolster. Otherwise, the color is a very consistent, uniform and almost translucent yellow. And to top it off the bone is perfectly smooth with no cracks, grooves or fissures.

I like yellow bone, yellow cell, yellow delrin, etc.

This is my favorite yellow bone handled knife.

I can never think of yellow bone without thinking of Doug and the great pics he used to post here :)

I never handled one in person, but there's something about GEC's smooth yellow bone (Texas rose) that really catches my eye...and coming from someone who, until two years ago, had never seen a yeller slipjoint, that is quite something :)

I NEVER EVER understand questions like this. WHY would you possibly care what other people think ?? CAN you NOT make up your own mind ? OR do you just have to do what all the lemmings do ?
And so it goes...

Really? I am going to take Rob's advice here and be Very Cool!

Never really cared for them, although Moore Makers yellow bone looks good. I gave a sowbelly trapper from them to my little brother. Tractor Supply Company's Out There magazine, their free magazine available in all stores, ran a one page article on the Case yellow trapper if anyone wants to check it out.
