That is a BEAST! Very cool indeed.

Feeling somewhat jaundiced....maybe because the yellow fever returned:D

Got hold of a Böker sodbuster and really pleased too. This is a good honest working knife that can clearly take a knock or two, carbon fans won't be disappointed by the steel from Argentina either:thumbup: Used it to prepare some smoked salmon toast and the lemon juice and horseradish sauce has got a beaut patina going on it already.

Also took a look at my Camillus Yello jaket, there's an extinct species of yesteryear:grumpy:

That photo reminds me that I really want to get a a yella handled slimline trapper. That's a great pattern and a damn handsome knife.

Thanks for the shot James Todd, very nice Yello Jaket there and a wonderful vase too:thumbup:

kinda forgot about this one but technically my very first yellow handled knife, and my first ebay purchase, Camillus Fishermans Luck, not the best specimen but i love the pattern. Funny thing is of all my old knives this is the one that elicits the wow thats mean looking:thumbup:Probably the tacti-cool serrations on the spine or the mean looking bottle opener:D eat yer heart out mantis!

eat yer heart out mantis!
Your's doesn't have a big red ring or dual thumb holes!
Back on topic, I will probably be picking up a Moore Maker Serpentine Stock Knife in smooth yellow bone tommorow- the guy is giving me a good deal on it.

Just in smooth yellow.

Nice knife. a good Fishing knive has to have a church key.

ha yes i suppose it does:) ive used it and the looks ya get when you seemingly attack the bottle with it are priceless:thumbup: likes my church keys of the sharp and pointy variety
i never could get a rough idea of a time period on it, i assumed it was stainless, but low and behold i was eating a granny smith apple and the blades took on the apple patina like my other yeller knives, hmmm
i suspect that the scales are celluloid 'cause of the drastic pitting on the blade and the back springs, not to mention they are pulling away at the edges ever so slightly. All things considered i love it! may be a candidate for a rehandle in the future

Just picked up a large single bladed Carl Schlieper at our local gun show. Handle looks like a Copperhead, or several of the two bladed hunters like Case, Schrade and Western made. Handle is 5 1/4 inches long, the single skinning blade is 4 inches long, carbon steel blade. Nickel silver bolster and butt, appears to be unused. One thing is the yellow handles is more orange than either my Carl Schlieper Sod Buster or my curret Stockman. Anyone have an idea when they switched to the lighter colored yellow handles?

Well, I figured an update on my illness was in order. I know how concerned you all must be. :p Here she is, in all her blood, sweat, and apple induced patina glory. Sorry for the poor quality photography, it's 122 here today and I wasn't getting out of the shade off my whittling stump for the sake of pictures.

Date of manufacture? 2008. Length of time used? About 3 weeks or so. She took on some character real quick. Now, I think I'm going to have to break down and try a peanut.
