  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Yes! Another Plea for Help in Finding

Hogue makes many fine knives in that price range. Every single one I have handled (7 or more) has been absolutely perfect, with smooth pivot action, mirrored razor-sharp edge, and tank lockup. They make the best button locks and linerlocks I have ever encountered, and just ooze quality. They tie with ZT for my favorite US brand.

I picked up a 0550BLK for a song a while ago and it was extremely smooth and pleasant to operate.
The 0566 is assisted, which may or may not be a dealbreaker for you. None of the three I have had de-assisted well, which led to me giving up on the product.
You might be able to pick up an 0560/0561 in that price range with some hunting around and staking out the exchange.
The Spyderco Paramilitary is a staple. I, personally, do not like the closing mechanism or the all-too-common lateral blade play.
The Manix is a wonderful knife. I have had issues with centering develop over time, however.
The Benchmade Contego and Barrage are extremely good options in that price range. I would strongly recommend going just a touch outside $150 and picking up an 851, as you get a very handsome, smooth, and solid knife with M390 steel. The 581 is assisted but can be de-assisted without issue.
