Thanks to BladeForums and to all of the knowledgable people here, I have successfully killed whatever budget I was on prior to the "disease" we all have. So here's to spreading the wealth that's saved me from the frustration of dull edges and has even made me change my major from a Commercial Diver to Applied Material Sciences.

- Must be a member for at least 3 months
- Post some valuable info/lesson youve learned from BF
- Winner will be chosen by Random.org, your post number will be your entry.
- giveaway will run from 8/25/11 - 9/25/11

Thanks for the chance!

A lesson i learned from bladeforums, Hmmm...

Think before you post.

Throwing dirt gets you nowhere.

Cool! It's great to see so many folks who have made a commitment to this site. Not just with their knowledge, but their generosity, as well.

One thing I've learned: Most Non Knife People are just folks who haven't had someone take the time to sit down and educate them. Make a difference in this world, and instead of looking down at someone who is afraid of your knife, meet them at their level, and show them in a polite and non-judgemental way that knives are useful tools, and let them decide.

I agree with Adin, as well. Think before you post.;)

I am in. somthing that I learned, never look at knives on the internet until AFTER you make your car payment.:D

the :jerkit: is hardly ever appropriate on this board...

lol, thanks for throwing a giveaway!!!

I need this one. :) I just gave my daughter her first knife. She picked my skyline

Smart girl!!!

Thanks!

I'm in, Thanks for the opportunity.

I've learned all sorts of valuable information, like about different lock mechanisms, steels, input on different knives and uses, developed my knife personality (like what kind of things in knives are important to me) I love this place!

LOL, i used to think that meant you were scratching you chin in thought. I may have offended a few people.

(sorry to derail the thread)

I've learned there's so many knives I want and not enough money for them! :)

Thanks for the giveaway!

I learned (and am still learning) how to take knife pictures here :) .

Thank you for the contest!

Hey, I'll play, and thanks for your generosity (and just think, every time i enter one of these, I get that much closer to doing one of my own!)

I've learned a number of different lessons, but probably the most important one for me personally was how to properly sharpen a knife. The little tips like using a sharpie on the blade to make sure you grind to the burr, what a burr is, that the Sharpmaker is a good buy, etc, were all godsends for me (and, I submit, anyone that loves knives).

And happy belated knife day to everyone!

I learned there are a lot more knife-carzy people out there like me and I'm not the only one. Thanks.

A picture really is worth a 1000 words. Most threads are worthless without pictures.

Thanks for the chance.

"By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest." Confucius

BF has yielded me much easy wisdom and saved me from much bitter wisdom (as far as knives go anyway :D).

Thanks for the chance!

BTW, the giveaway ends on my birthday! That's gotta count for something, right? :D
