Of course, I didn't take it as such either. I appreciate you pointing it out. I most defintely have to agree aboutI didn't mean it in a bad way. Actually cool that you came up with a similar design as one of the two top Russian knife makers.
That being said, it shows that it's hard to come up with something new and distinguished in this field .... I suggest to study people who started like you and who have been successful in the past, and why they were, in addition to luck. TakeLorien for example. I'm a fan of his CPK designs. They turn out to be _very_ practical and ergonomic but still have a very unique "signature". That combined with CPK's innovation made the success, IMHO.
If you are a coffee drinker, let me give you another example: the Alessi Espresso maker:

This one actually made it into the MOMA, I believe due to the combination of functionality, beautiful, simple and yet original design.

This isn't at all to sound cocky or arrogant, but I've alwasy been a fan of design in general, in all aspects of life, so I am fairly confident in my ability to come up with very visually appealing things that also function how they should, and the challenge of it even brings me joy.
