I try and avoid makers who start to develop bad reps like this for two reasons: 1. It really does/would taint the knife to me - I do not want to own a knife made by a person who is not honorable, treated people poorly, lied to me, etc.
2. I do not collect knives to think I am going to make money or even get back what I paid at a later date; but the truth is makers who get bad reputations see their knives diminish in value over time in the community. So you have to ask yourself the question of do I really want to pay $700 for a knife from this guy when their actions will inevitably lead to knowing I will take a major loss if I ever do decide to sell down the road? If you go back to #1 the answer is heck no!
