So ... for dinner tonight we had a roast with some peppers and squash for a side and the "better then sex" potatoes. I also drank an entire bottle of red wine because it was going down so nicely with the potatoes and roast. To achieve such potatoes you need the following:

3-4lbs of baby potatoes
2 cups of corn (canned makes it a little sweeter)
1/2 a red onion - diced into a medium
3-5 cloves of garlic - lightly smashed
1/2 to 1lb of bacon crumbled
1/4 to 1/3 a cup of parmesan cheese
1/3 cup of sour cream
1/3 cup of mayonnaise
1 table spoon of dill (fresh is preferred - dry gives it a stronger taist)
salt (to taste)
fresh pepper (to taste)
olive oil (or any other cooking oil)

1. heat oven to 425
2. dice your potatoes into bite-sized pieces and put them on a single layer baking sheet
3. spread corn evenly over potatoes (or if lazy cook separately and add in after)
4. spread chopped onions over potatoes ( or caramelize them in a pan to be added after)
5. add lightly smashed garlic to potatoes (or throw in with onions and add to mix after)
6. drizzle liberally with your cooking oil of choice and add your salt and pepper
7. roast until potatoes are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside
8. cook your bacon (don't eat it all after you are done you need to add it to the potatoes)
9. combine mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, dell, parmesan cheese, add a tiny bit of salt and pepper on this step too... but not too much because both the potatoes and bacon will add a little more salty taste.
10. after roasting the potatoes remove the garlic and smash it into a paste and add it to the dressing you just made.
11. combine everything and experience the orgasm in your mouth.

You're Welcome and Cheers!

I dont agree with #8 or #9.

How do you NOT eat bacon once its cooked?

And why would you use mayo on anything?

Its never acceptable on anything.

Not eating the bacon requires discipline. Or get the wife to do it....

I put mayo on everything... my family originally came over from Holland

Wife permitting I'll make some later tonight..... giggity

get your mind out of the gutter... it goes great on eggs :D

Think I'm going to call tonight an early night and put the kids down and go for a dip in in the hot tub! wewt

Some people are "fruity beer guys"!
...and some people are just fruity guys....
God help me if I ever start brewing my own fruity beer.
Great thing about brewing fruity beer yourself is you can get the flavor you want. I made a raspberry chocolate porter once using a whole flat of raspberries from this place called the "Broken Pushcart" (way more than day old produce) - but I put them in the fermenter (german baker's chocolate, too). When it was done and bottled, there was definitely the scent of raspberries, but the beer was not sweet at all - because all the sugars had been eaten by the yeast in fermentation and turned into alcohol. A lot of craft brewers put the fruit flavor in after, which I don't personally care for. I did have some Out of Your Gourd maple pumpkin porter from Red Hook last fall that was totally done right - not sweet and seriously kickin' roasted malt flavor....

As the sun slowly sets over Barlow.....

My first day in Germany when I was assigned there in 1985, my sponsor took me to a little schnell imbiss (food cart/stand) for dinner despite my serious jet lag. There I learned that pommes frites (french fries) are served with mayonnaise in Germany. I have to confess that, despite the effect on my cardio system, I do love them served that way now. I also discovered curry wurst, a sliced up sausage with ketchup and curry powder...also very tasty, despite jet lag. I later discovered they are also good after you've had a few of those good German beers.

Sadly I have had a brewing kit from Midwest or Northern homebrew for a few years now, but never gotten around to it.

We'll be mowing in a week.
We'll be mowing, too, in about a week....from June.

I hear ya. I haven't brewed beer since my oldest was born 13 years ago. Fun as hell when I was bachin' it...luckily, there are so many fine beers on the market these days I don't really feel the need to spend the time or effort to do it any more. Hell, I can't even try all the fantastic locally produced brews there are so many. Here's to Thor's Day...although I might not get hammered. This one's 9.4%, though, and a 22oz. bottle.
