Lucky sonofagun! I too am a teacher and our weather forecast is for a bunch of snow to fall around lunchtime.

That means another day of school with a pack of riled up 2nd graders AND I get to battle Mother Nature on my long commute home.:grumpy:

Enjoy your day! Looks like you're in for some more fun from the looks of your pics. Thanks for sharing...and not rubbing it in too much!;)

Ugghh... I called the office this morning. My snow day has turned into a "delayed opening".

That means I don't have to be to work until noon. Which means I have enough time to get the snow blower out, clean this stuff up, then spend an hour+ trying to get to the office. No joy here.

Congrats again MMIAM.

It's strange here. Our schools will close for safety during "inclement weather" but we at facilities and maintenance have only had this happen twice in the last 25 years (according to the folks who have been around that long). We have state agencies and utility offices closing because of this snow. I am a little baffled because we have had more snow before. Oh well. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, right? I hope everyone has a great and safe season and gets to go out and play. I hope to try another snow fire today and maybe shoot my bow awhile. If we get much more of this, the kids and I will do a shelter.

Not sure about there but the school districts around here are alloted X amount of snow/emergency days. When the end of winter gets close they start using them up. My kids would have to go to school in 6" of snow and ice in January but get a snow day in March for 1.5" of powder.

Maybe they're just making up for the days they didn't use last year.:p

I wish we had a snow day. Instead we have an iceday. Freezing rain all night. Im surprised we still have power. Dont even want to take a step outside for fear of slipping and being laid up again..

I live sixty miles northwest of Columbus in the Crawford County area of Ohio. We got three eighths of an inch of ice and have gotten over one and a half inches of mixed freezing rain and normal precipitation!

Which means...I also got a snow day. :D I'm gonna drag myself away from the Forums here in a little bit to go outside and play bushcraft!

If its the same system that is moving through here (Detroit/Windsor) you'll get it.

My snow day consisted of:

6:00 AM - Shovel snow so Mrs. coud get her car out.
9:00 AM - Get the snow blower out and do it again. Took care of the neighbors house too.
Noon - Get a call from mom. Her car is stuck and she can't get her car in the drive AND the snow blower won't start for her.
- Load my snow blower in the car and head over there.
- Get her car out.
- Clear enough snow to get to her door.
- Tried getting her snow blowe running. Funny, fired right up for me. (she never primes it enough).
- Clear 10" of this horrible crap from her double lot.
1:00PM - get home and shovel my sidewalk and drive AGAIN :grumpy:

The trunk of my car is full of snow from loading the blower, the roads are too bad for me to venture out, and now I have to worry about the wife getting home from work safely.

Oh well. Dishes are done, house is clean, mom is happy, and I got some Molson in the frige for later. Things could be a whole lot worse.;)

More snow, but ice is coming. We had some visitors though.

The birds have been smart enough to stay somewhere else though.
The feeder and bath are usually busy with about 5 different species.
