I can't post pics, but have about 50 or so SAKs. Perhaps you can give me some info. I want a Vic Trekker OHO (plain blade) that I'd like to carry, but can't find the BLADE length anywhere. I know the over all length is 111mm. Thanks

Nice group of knives. Just wondering (I've been dying to ask on the SAK message board), but why the lanyards? I've tried them, but they just seem to get in the way when using my SAKs (mainly a Tinker). Also glad to see someone else carries a Fenix E01. Have one on my keychain. What's the red container? Always curious as to what folks carry around with them. My wife says I carry more in my pockets and on my keychain then she does in her purse - probably true :-)

It's a source of continuing nminor annoyance to me that they all come with a "pierced ear" and split ring for keyrings and lanyards, which I simply never use. If the knife is small (Classic, say), I'll leave it as is. But with big ones (Pioneer size), I just remove the "ear" and smooth it away with a Dremel.

Here's my current collection of Victorinox, the Electrician and Executive ride side by side in my front right pocket, the rest are in my kit bag, for what ever may happen during the day.

Awesome pictures and knives !!! Very Nice :)

Just this evening, I clipped, dremeled, jeweler filed and buffed the lanyard tab off the Cadet pictured in the OP. The blemishes are only visible/noticeable with magnification. There are no hot spots. Much MUCH better !!!

Nice job there, I use to do that to mine as well, but now I miss them, the three that have lanyards are handy to retrieve from kit bag or pocket and can aid in gripping sometimes too, on the Cadet they had that hole thing kicked up higher than the spine, that I didn't care for very much on that knife.

Here's a shot of the lanyard I make, using a diamond knot and then I whip the lanyard close to the split ring for better control, plus it looks cool ;)

Also note that these split rings are MUCH smaller than what Victorinox puts on their knives, I had my wife pick me up some smaller diameter split rings from a hobby shop, these work much much better !

here's a comparison shot of the original split ring on my Cadet vs the smaller one I installed, that's back in the day when I made braided leather lanyards, not their all paracorde :)

Very nice Gary !!! ... and good points too

This afternoon, the split ring on the Cadet caught a loose seam thread in my jeans pocket. Pulling the knife from my pocket turned the pocket inside out. THEN ... I had to look closely and untangle the thread and split ring without coming unraveled or ripping a seam out.

"THAT'S IT", I said ... the split ring and lanyard tab have to go.

EDIT: At least the Wenger like Jackknife has, has a bail easily removed if preferred. Only ... ONLY reason I didn't get one of those Wenger's is because I prefer a file to a punch

Yep, certainly can appreciate that! a smaller split ring might have helped but it's still a split ring no matter how you slice it.

I'm just a paracord lanyard fool right about now, I have made them for those knives, a few others, my jacket pockets have smaller ones for the zipper pulls, my bags all have paracord diamond knotted zipper pulls, been tempted to make a zipper pull for my pants, but, I think my wife would have me tested...

Hey Rich, the lanyards are for keeping the knife in the boat.

From early spring to late fall, I spend a good deal of time on small boats. Canoes, small sailboats, fishing/crabing boat. Potomac river, Patuxent river, Chesapeake Bay, Choptank river. I had one knife go overboard, I don't intend to loose any more to Davy Jones' locker. Also, the lanyard makes it easy if you're working on something and need both hands quick, and you have the lanyard over your wrist, if need be, you can just let go of the knife and it's not going anywhere, just dangles from your wrist until you can deal with it.

The Fenix E01 is a great lithe light and I love it. Great run time, adequate lumens for real world seeing whats around you in low light or no light conditions. It won't sear the retna's out of a tree's coon a hundred feet up a old oak tree, but has enough to see your way out of a dark METRO tunnel in an emergency. Or find your way to the circuit breaker panel in a blackout.

The red Bison capsule is where I carry aspirin for both arthritis pain, and in case of a vapor lock. Our friend Harry felt chest pain and nausea and numbness in his left arm. His wife gave him two aspirin and called 911. When the EMT's go there, he was in the middle of a major heart attack. The EMT's and the cardiac doc all said the aspirin saved his life.

So I carry a classic, flashlight, and aspirin on my keyring so I can't leave home without any of them.
