Jarod Todd has no business being on this forum. He has a long history of jumping from project to project without ever finishing anything.

Whatever you do, never send him money until you have in hand whatever your money is for!!! This guy is so untrustworthy and unable to follow through that you risk your personal calm doing business with this jerk.

Last July Jarod Todd devised a very nice knifemaker's scribe. He contracted to make these, and collected money upfront from 20 knifemakers to buy materials to make them. Here's the first page of the sale thread:

I sent my $50, and was fifth on the list. Check it out.

Fast forward to the end of October, and none of the scribes had yet been shipped. Todd ignored repeated requests for information from many, many very patient knifemakers. Read through the various pages if you doubt me. It will begin to turn your stomach.

Finally, this non-functioning fool acknowledged the repeated attempts to gain information on the delivery status of the tools many knifemakers prepaid for in July, and said he sent out nine of the scribes he'd managed to complete. I have no proof that this is actually true, but I do know that he provided a list of the people that he presumably had shipped them to -- and I was not on it. Figure that one out. I guess this jerk just drew names from a freakin hat?! Here is the most recent page as of this writing:

I have, in no uncertain terms, requested a refund. I PMed this whacko in the most rude manner I could manage, and I'm still very upset. I do not like to be angry. I am generally polite and patient. But I do not intend to be stepped on by some lame pissant who cannot fulfill his prepaid promises. If I don't get my refund by 2 November I will begin the process with PayPal to retrieve my funds.

Do not trust Jarod Todd. He does not have the character to stick to his commitments. If you have sent him money and not yet received your goods, think twice about continuing to let him earn interest on your money while he plays around.

I'm ashamed that I let this go on for so long.
 
Me too. I also have left negative feedback. I want my money back. I think he should refund all of the money he's taken from other knifemakers. I think he should provide proof that he has actually shipped anything.
 
I'm sorry you got into a business deal that isn't working out well.
I think the other knifemakers should speak for themselves.
 
This is too bad. Hope you all get it straightened out.

Just a little advise to all; Never send money for something that is not ready for immediate shipment.
 
Perhaps I have egg on my face. If so, I apologize for my outburst. This is what can happen when people don't think or act rationally. Below is Jarod's reply to my PM.

"I am sorry, i asked on the thread and was told to ship in the order that people payed. and thats how i got the list, just went to paypal and selected the first 9 people, well 8 people because some one sent me a check but i checked the date on the check and put it in line accordingly. I am really sorry i though that was how people wanted it to go. you refund is on its way in a few min."

I would like to say somthing, yes i will admit some times i get over zellos on a project and it ends op taking me a lot longer then i thought. but i allways come through and would never ever even consider cheating some one or just taking there money. Dave has decided to wate till his scribe is done which wont be much longer.
 
I admit I was surprised to see this thread. Jarod seems to be a stand up guy and is very active in the maker's section.

Good to see it is working out.
 
I'm really sorry. This was inexcusable.

I will admit to some frustration in delivery delays for prepaid stuff from various makers, but really I let my personal day overflow publicly. Not okay.
 
Misunderstandings happen with the best of us. It's a busy world we live in. By speaking up Dave got his questions answered, which was good for everyone involved.
 
I've been trying to get a large bowie done from Jarod Todd for a while now, in fact for OVER 2 YEARS! I last heard from him in November (2010), and since then I have left several e-mails for him to contact me. I have paid him $400.00 U.S. (I'm Canadian) as money down for a knife that was supposed to have been completed in May-June of 2009!

I will advise anyone reading this to take heed and not send this man any money. It seems I am not the only member on this forum who has been taken advantage of by this man.

It pains me to do this, as I think very little of those who flame others over the internet, but I feel a responsibility to warn others.

i just tried to call jared on his cell but his mailbox is full. i hate to say this but i think you might not be getting what you paid for. you might want to contact the police in his town and have them check to see if he is still around. if you want, i can call for you. email me his address and i'll have them go check in on him. rje196021@gmail.com
