... that you really wish it was made by a different company?

With the wealth of custom collaborations that are around, I'm starting to see a lot of great designs that I'd just give eye teeth to have made by a different company with better materials and quality control. I won't name names for the production companies, because these aren't bad companies per se, they just make knives at a lower price point than I'm willing to pay for. I can't afford the custom version, but it'd sure be nice to see a Reate or a CKF or a Spyderco or a Benchmade do the collaboration version.

I was looking at a Kiku Matsuda collaboration that looks awesome, but no way am I paying what was being asked for a knife made of AUS8.

Am I the only one who thinks that?

Kind of the opposite. I wish someone else had made the Cold Steel Master Hunter 3V. It's a great knife with a great price, but it has 4 bits of info on the blade and each one is in a different font, each worse looking than the last. And 3V is spelled "3-V" on it too.

Great knife made by a company with no taste.

I wish the SOG Creed was made by Cold Steel. It would likely be in 3V for the same or similar price, or half of what it costs in AUS8.

I also wish Spyderco made the HK Ally. The ergonomics would be much, much better and the steel would be H1.

I wish all (decent) knives were made by Grohmann Knives, and that they had a huge plant here in Windsor.
I further wish that I had a job there making knives, and got a bonus paid in knives for every holiday.
Plus, the salary would be huge, with full benefits, and I could afford a car and a house...both of which would be full of knives that I would get an employee discount on. :)

Hey, if you're going to wish, wish big, right? :D

I hate to stir up any shit... but I wish Emerson and Strider was made by Cold Steel. I would definitely buy a waved XL SMF with a Tri-Ad lock in 3V.

What if opinel was made by cold steel? Oh yeah they did that haha.

I wish Zero Tolerance made Emersons. They have collaborations but I want a Horseman, Combat Karambit (by the way, I'd like to see a ZT karambit period), and CQC-10 made by ZT. I'd probably buy other models too. They are such great designs but the execution leaves much to be desired at the given price point. I would be perfectly happy to see the materials and fit/finish of my 0200 morphed into these Emerson designs. I'm fine with 154CM. I really like my 0630 but it doesn't quite match the great ergonomics of its CQC-8 and Horseman cousins, which just feel awesome.

Yes. If ZT made a UBR Commander in the same construction (and thickness) as the 0300, I would be carrying 2 of them.

I want ZT to make Emersons from now on as well, I just want Cold Steel to go up in flames so I can roast marshmallows on the factories ashes that would be nice too.

I wish a lot of collaboration knives made by CRKT were made by a company that used a better steel and better QC. Example: The CRKT GSD. Sweet looking knife, but I've seen some examples that leave a lot to be desired. Plus the AUS8 is not a great steel by any means.

Am I the only one who likes AUS8? It's cheap and is easy to sharpen. More so, unlike other steels that are cheap and easy to sharpen, it holds an edge.

I'm confused. Are you asking if we would like to see the current kiku collaboration made with better materials by another company?

Im not following either. If some company, lets call them SCHMOG, can't make that collaboration at a price you find reasonable, what leads you to believe other makers, whose knives are at a similar price point, would be able to?
