If you could only have one knife and it had to be a fixed blade knife what would it be? Remember this will be your only knife you can have. Justchillin' Jeffro

One knife for the rest of my life??

Well my friend, is that really living??

Seriously though, it's too late, my brain has had it for the day. Too many knives to think about. I need more time to reflect.

Maybe I'll check back in tomorrow with a better answer.

I'm with Phil...the Fowler Pronghorn gets the nod. if I was restricted to aa production knife, it would be a Marbles. I'm not sure which model. I love all of mine. I know a Marbles isn't as tough as a Busse or as fashionable as some others, but when it comes to the primary purpose of a knife--cutting stuff--they are hard to beat. And I just like them. That 52100 steel is incredible.

Ugh, just one knife? Well, I will assume that the law would allow me to carry which ever I wanted anytime I wanted. My choice would be my OGG Bowie. It is compact and light wieght as far as bowies go. I know from using it that it is plenty durable. One reason that may not seem important (but is to me) is that the knife is also a pleasure to look at and enjoy. I mean, if I gotta have just one, it may as well be pretty as well as useful, right?

Hmmm, to rest of my life it is hard to plan even one wife only

However equipping myself to trip to desert island I would choose between BENCHMADE Nimravus, GERBER Yari and Fällkniven S1 Forest Knife.
But it would be really hard choice!

Anyone of the One Piece range knives from Chris Reeves could do, but I am partial to the Project 1.

Any one of the Busse Combat knives could do, but I am partial to the Natural Outlaw.

But if this was my only knife and I were not merely afield all the time, I would lean more towards the Shadow IV or Badger Attack with the nod going to the badger based upon size and shape.

One wife is difficult enough ... but only one knife !?!?!?

Any of the Steve Ryan family would do for me...

It would have to be a knife that excels at cleaning game, chopping up food and whittling. These chores I consider essential. It would also have to be tough, since I only get one. Therefore, I would pick a Dozier Professional Guide's knife. My second choice would be a Grohmann Camper. My third choice would be a Camillus Talon 154CM. And my fourth choice would be a Busse Lean Mean Street.

I get some pleasure from finding a relentlessly peaceful use for a combative looking knife.

I honestly have no idea

A KABAR would be an economical choice. I wouldn't hesitate to choose it.

By proxy, for Kodiak PA who is stalking Yogi right now, I am betting he would choose the Pronghorn as well.

Busse Steel Heart.

Big enough to chop with, nimble enough for lighter tasks. Works as a fighter in a pinch.
Stays sharp "forever".

Trace Rinaldi's Talmadge Tactical Kitchen Knife. I have both Talonite and BG-42 versions. They are beautiful and functional. I prefer a 5/32" blade (5.5" long) with micarta handle and mosaic pins.
Stay Sharp,
Chad

Hmmm...I think it would have to be my Cold Steel Recon Scout.

.

That 5/16th inch THICK blade will stand-up to anything I'd happen to toss at it.
(I sure wish Cold Steel would make that knife in AUS-8A stainless steel, 'tho...).
