That's quite a generalization.
If you have not seen the integrity or character of the vast majority of the folks in the knife industry, you haven't been paying attention.
And if you have not seen the many, many solid, get-more-than-you-pay-for, values in the knife industry, you haven't been paying attention.
Unfortunately, this knife is cheap crap and it gives one exactly what you pay for.
yes I do like to generalize cause its the truth . from car makers (airbag fiasco),overpriced parts ,cheap plastic cars outrageous sticker prices to appliances all cheap plastic and made to last 5 years to door knobs that last two years and break to shower/tub controllers that fall apart after 1 year its all crap . we have turned from quality to junk in this country .
yes there are many who have integrity and character. unfortunately there are also many who do not. and yes there are values in the knife industry as well. but you need to invest time and effort in the finding of them in many cases. The same time and effort you seem to devote to my comments on these forums for some unknown reason but everyone needs a hobby when they have a lot of time on their hands and sit in front of a computer all day every day . the average buyer can and does get scammed quite frequently . My comments weren't meant as an insult to one specific industry or to this forum or those who sell their work here.
That's just a gorgeous old hunter bowie you've got there, and the history that comes with it just makes it that much cooler.Real Sheffield (England) production. Old:

The wife's grandfather carried this shipboard throughout WW2 (USN). It was old then and dates best I can tell to 1890s.

Pretty much. The BK-21 is a good chopper. I tend to use my Condor machetes for such things and have a number of them. For general wacking on limbs and smaller logs, I usually chose the Condor Pack Golok..... Unfortunately, this knife is cheap crap and it gives one exactly what you pay for.

Hi,https://i.imgur.com/3Nu1JcR.png
Bought this cheap sheffield kukri for about 30 dollars, and went to cut some stuff with it today. First branch i swing it at brakes a half-inch chunk out of the blade. I reallize that you get what you pay for, but come on. Its a kukri, its made to cut through stuff like that. Neadless to say, sheffield is not a good brand, but i guess im the only one who fell for that haha. I expected at least a little more though. One thing i will say is that this was one of the sharper blades out of the box, but that doesnt really matter when the sharp part just brakes off.
Hi,The branch wasnt that thick, probably only a little over an inch. The tree was a pine so not even very hard. The blade is made from a peice of 1/8 inch steel, which seems pretty thick compared to my other cheap offbrand machete. The first chunk of blade broke off on the second hit, which i didnt even hit that hard, very disappointing lol. Ill get some pictures in a bit
