You have $130 to buy a knife-what knife do you buy?

Ill second the mini socom. After just getting my first microtech, I am a believer. The quality of these knives are INCREDIBLE. I cant believe they havent gotten as much attention as deserved on these forums.

Well...I've had experience with all of the above except for the Pioneer and the Mini Socom, and my choice is the Axis, the Pinnacle, and possibly the G10 Rookie or the POLICE. -AR

... and if I had another $130 I'd buy the Spyderco G-10 CIVILIAN.

... and if I can wait awhile -- the REKAT SIFU or Camillus BFF1

For close to your price point, you can get a MicroTech Mini-SOCOM and have quite possibly the best overall knife in existence. I used to wonder, "What can you do to a knife to make it worth more than $100?". After holding the baby SOCOM, you will understand and feel that you got an awesome deal (I paid $150 at ABC-Direct but I think he may have gotten $15 too much). Call me crazy, but I also like the CUDA. I don't know about heavy-duty work with it but it's a conversation-starter.

After looking at several of them and reading the posts, I would get a Military. In fact, I am going to get one! I've always liked the look and feel of it, but now I've heard so many good things about it, I too must have one!

RTJ...All these knives mentioned are awesome, thats why we have so many

....As for the mini socom..it is a knife you'll carry alot..I too was a beleiver in 4" or better blades. The mini is pretty handy, but it depends what your after. They really have a great feel to them. Save a bit more and go for the SOCOM..The Military is great and very big! The BM Axis is a very cool knife, tip up carry, great lock, and very safe to close. One thing is the recurve of the blade is very handy as most work is done in the sweet spot, belly! And its around 4".. EDI is good too! So what are ya gonna buy? You must hold all these knives to decide..Also check out the Paragon xlite. Decisions, decisions????

LET US KNOW WHERE YOU GO!!

I would first like to thank you all for the suggestions, they were all great!!!
I went knife shopping Saturday, and well--Lets just say I spent more than $130 bucks.I ended up buying the Benchmade 710 Axis-Lock and 140 Nimravus,I also picked up a DMT Diafold sharpener!!!Anyways, I like these knives very much!Only thing is I want more!!
I was also wondering,My Nimravus is marked"First Production Run 1 of 1000"It was the same price as the other ones so I chose it.Is it any more desirable because of this?

Thanks Again!

RJT

A Benchmade 710 axis lock would serve you well.Do you prefer tip-up carry or tip down? If tip-up then the axis lock would do . If tip-down think about the spyderco police. the spyderco civilian is a great knife, but narrow purpose. It does have the advantage of scaring the poop out of anyone you display
it to!
