I've heard so many of you ranting and raving about Mora's and SAK Farmers that I just went and bought one of each. For those of you that have been pondering either of these guys, Amazon is selling the Mora Clipper for $11.97 and the SAK Farmer for $17.somthin.

don't even start........

Ever since I've found bladeforums my addiction has gotten out of control. I really don't need any more encouragement.

Or drop any one of the knifemakers on this forum a line, they'd be glad to work something up for you.

Oh I've been working on my drawings for my ideal bush knife. I'm just really trying to keep my home happy. For some reason my wife just doesn't seem to understand how all of a sudden I have had the need to buy 7 new knives in the past 3 months........actually, make that 9 new knives.

Yeah be careful because the whole sickness starts with SAKs and Moras. The strongest are able to stop there but most find that soon they are in touch with any of the fine makers here on the W&SS. Before you know it, you are carrying 4 knives for a 2 mile hike.

You need to admit something to yourself :) Repeat after me... Hello, I'm insert name here, I am a knifeaholic. LOL. You'll be fin, but I can't vouch for your wallet. Welcome.

I'm going down to Guatemala, Mexico and Costa Rica next week. I'm going to have to pick up one of those 12 inch Tramontina machetes while I'm there. After watching Mac's videos on youtube.........man, I don't know how I've lived this long without one.

I have some 1/8 steel and I am working on a bushcraft design as well.
Might go work on it right now, no time like the present...

How ironic, I just got my first two Moras from Ragweed in the mail today and should be getting that same SAK Farmer this week!!!! :D
I wish I would have known about Felinevet!!! Next time.
These Moras are way nicer than I ever expected!!!!!! I could post pics, but I'm sure everyone has seen them. :)

Wait 'till the Busse ranting and raving sinks in. I wish I could buy them for 17 bucks. :(

I tried to buy my first Farmer last week, but Swiss Outpost shipped me an Explorer instead. Nice knife, of course, but I'll have to pick up a Farmer when I order books next (soon).

I love the Busse's, but I don't know what I'd do with a 2lb razor blade. A machete and a mora made more sense to me.

All Busses don't weigh two pounds....

This little Boney Active Duty is a really handy 3.5", 1/8"-thick INFI steel blade that also happens to be very likely tougher than any similarly-sized knife you could get your hands on:

This BAD has quickly become one of my all-time favorite knives.

The Game Warden is another gem with a shorter, 3" blade. I have machetes and lots of Moras and SAKs, too. But I don't discount Busse as a practical knife.

That thing is beautiful.

Don't get me wrong, I love Busse's. I think I try to talk them down to myself because of their price tag. That knife is gorgeous.....what does something like that run?

The problem I have with every expensive knife I have ever bought is that I'm scared to use it. I don't want to break the tip or chip the blade so it sits in a desk drawer.

Are you going to Tikal? It is totally worth it. If staying in Guatemala city the day trip is fine. You leave at 5:00 am and have plenty of time to do the guided tour, they supply a great lunch and then fly you back.

There are plenty of places to buy machetes and nice sheaths while you are there. Take care on your trip, I came back from a Honduras/Guatemala/Mexico jaunt in August. I'll be back in Mexico in Jan presenting at a workshop.

If you check in the Sportsmans Guide (www.sportsmansguide.com) you can get a Mora/Frosts clipper for like $11-12 and get it engraved for $5 more.. I grabbed a carbon steel clipper a few weeks ago and love it.. I bought a SS one for a bud of mine, but something about the carbon blade just draws me in..
