What seems to have gotten lost in all the excitement is the fact that I have..at long last, acquired my 1st Becker. A BK2 that has held up splendidly when we beat it through sticks with other pieces of sticks. Murph calls it "batoning" but it seemed like we were trying to break it. It didn't break. Also, I need a 9. That is all.

You will never break a 2.................or a 9 for that matter. If you do, you have to post pics of yourself in the hospital. Cause that's where your're gonna be. It would take a building falling down on your head to break a Becker.
That is all

Oh yea, Tell Todd that I trade leather for steel.

I finally got back to work last week, but still not full time yet. I'm getting 6.5 hours per day right now. September should go to full time. Bills suck.

You wouldn't get hurt on that trade, in my humble opinion. He's cranking out some interesting things. I have laid claim to that hatchet, for instance. I've become an avid collector. That is all. Or not.

Nice to know...Now go out and actually use it. :D

dude that m18 is just sick, absolutely love the design... and of course the hatchet speaks for itself..

did you differentially heat treat the hatchet??
you'd be a twisted individual with a forge, forging hatchets from what I understand can be a separate addiction all on its own..

excellent work !!!

and I can commiserate with you on shop time vs work time, when I get going in the shop it turns into LONG hours.. and my wife comes and bothers me for dinner... :D

Thanks for the complements. My shop is about 15 steps out my back door. So the wife and kids are never far. Sometimes that is great. Sometimes its distracting. I'm sure you know what I mean!

I think I could see my M18 hiding in that blank of steel.

How right you are BE. There is a M-18 in that steel. Unfortunately, it is already spoken for. However, I have decided that I'm going to produce a "shop M-18" that I can use myself, lend out, experiment with, whatever. I may even do a passaround with it. If I do. You sir will be first on the list.

I batoned some walnut with my BK77 today. I guess its a user now :)

Thanks pointy. Really looking forward to some pointymade home brew in Oct. I'm hoping anyway that you will be gracing our pallet with it again. I. Know how much trouble it is. Where you able to get any good use from the book I gave you?

Dude, I'll do my best to have something tasty for the gathering. And the book is great, had an obscure question about enzymes in the mash and it sorted me out in a hurry, thanks. awesome book.
