You never know what's underneath....

No word from the shop, but I haven't contacted them directly.... I find this more of an entertaining curiosity than anything to be upset about, and I don't want to distract anyone from shipping those Ganzaaa blades ASAP! Then again, I've always been a "that glass isn't half empty... it was (properly) designed to hold twice as much beer!" kinda guy.

The scribbles do almost look like "anniversary" in a way, and controlling a die grinder while intoxicated could be quite a task... good call N2K.

This blade came to me from the exchange, late last summer, so I have no clue when it was produced. I will PM the seller and see if he has any more intel. It showed up as a user with a great price, which was a perfect fix while I was looking for a ASHBMSE #X/300.... that swedge is just sooo captivating! I was actually planning on cutting one into this blade after stripping it, the balance improvement feels worth the effort to me, but now I don't know if I want to mess up the scribbles! It might still go in for a double-cut finish and a handle change, but that's all TBD.

I will post up if I learn anything new, or come up with any more fun hallucinatory explanations, and please do share any of yours!

Cheers, Mark.

Still no one has chimed im?? Has to be a good story behing this, or at least make one up lol

... Pour the next round of Tequila?!? :D

No worries Garth, just please don't do that on my short Butaniku! Perhaps, sometime, I can persuade you with fine agave spirits (there is no small lack around here )! Until then, I suppose we are all left guessing..... which really is fun after all!

There was a thread some time ago that was in a similar vein. And it got ugly. Full of complaints. :grumpy:

I was afraid that this thread might have been headed into that territory. That it didn't can be credited to the OP; who did not come here to complain, but merely to share, with no malice aforethought.

Best guess is still drunken die grinder shenanigans.... sounds fun!

Seriously the more I look at this I can't help but fall in love with how cool it looks. Can we get some of these offered in comp finish please, Garth?

If I had to guess at this point, I'd wager that the squiggly may be intended to help to coating adhere solidly and not peel or flake off.

Now at least 3 people posted that opinion that it's there to help the coating adhere to the blade. Still I don't get it.
Wouldn't it flake everywhere then except on the tiny portion of the blade with the drunken elvish writing?

Why would only a few blades need a bit of snail trails but the vast majority of Busses none at all?

This one here and the other we know of are special and we have still no clue how or why:p

It looks like someone tried to use a hand-grinder/similar and write the word "anniversary" on each side..upside down on the logo side...right side up on the non-logo side....in a cursive, spinning tool kinda way.
Now I see it too. The non logo side only edge up in the mirror though.

I'm more than OK with it.... I freaking love it! :D

I can only hope my next stripper adventure is as exciting and mysterious!

My adventures with strippers always end up with full garbage bags, vomit, and a strange stale cheese sm- .....
