You only have $25

Couple of you have said the Ontario Utilitac. Isnt it $25 and change?....plus shipping? How would you purchase it with "$25 and not a penny more"? If you buy it locally, im guessing its going to be a little more.

You can go to (( not a paid BF Dealer )) right now and find a satin finish coffin handled tanto Utilitac for $24.18, or you can get the black finished round handle tanto Utilitac for $24.45. (( not a paid BF Dealer )) So...if I had $25 and not a penny more to get a knife, I could pick from one of 2 Utilitacs.

A USA-made Camillus (or two) from before they shut their doors or a Victorinox SAK.

(( not a paid BF Dealer )) charges tax on knives now (not sure if all of them). So at $24.18, they charge $1.96 tax so total would be $26.14, even with the free shipping.

Short answer: Rat- 1 or 2.

Longer answer: there is not one knife currently on my list that's any less than 4x that price so I'd probably spend it on gas and be happy with my current collection. $25 doesn't go far in my 2500 especially having to keep it in 4x4 (real 4x4, not AWD) cause of the snow.

I lived up there. I got old(er), retired to Florida, and now only have to worry about hurricanes sweeping me out to sea.

Kabar Dozier folder; probably the folding hunter.

Always a SAK, however the models I like are pushing the $25 limit.

SAK, Opinel, Douk-Douk, Mora, CS Bushman, Aitor Castor, carbon steel Merjator K55, there are some Bucks for $25 or less (some slipjoints, the Nobleman, etc.), Case has some affordable models as well (I'd pick CV if possible).

It would be a one handed opener for sure and I would have to draw straws on the Dozier, Ganzo or Utlitac as I've never tried any of them. These three keep on coming up over and over again though as a cheapie but awesome one handed opening wonder! SAKS are not knives in the purest of senses, I wouldn't carry a fixed blade around all the time. If I could steal a used Spyderco in decent condition i.e. Delica or Tenacious for $25 that would be ideal.
