You won't lose these !!!

Blech - U G L Y !

One good use though, you can take a pee right beside the knife, and use this as a general index of dehydration. If your pee looks like your knife, you need to drink some more water.....

These would be awsome for throwing knives (blaze orange would be even better) I seem to lose them way to easily.

That F.A.X is sooo ugly, the only way it could get lucky at its prom, was by inviting one of the F.D.X. knives :D :D :D

Ya'd think that squared off 'axe' handle would give you blisters after a few minutes...if it did'nt fly out of your hand first!

Ya, how expensive would it be for a company like Busse to have some decent leather or Kydex pants made for $200+ knives? How vain can a knife company get?! We'll see when the economy starts to tank worse later this year.... Even small, one and two man outfits offer sheaths at minimal cost with their knives, BlindHorse for one, and Busse can't, or won't?!!

Gotta say too that those knives look to be totaly unusable to me. JMHO.

Busse used to supply sheaths. Most people complained that they didn't like them and didn't want to have to pay for them... so they stopped. And now people complain about that, too.

Personally, I'm usually happy with the sheaths I get, and I'd rather have any sheath come with the knife than no sheath.

That said, I can see where these knifemakers are coming from, and it's not vanity. I see it as very closely analoguous to a situation in my own field, as a photographer:

I often sell fine art prints. A lot of people buying fine art prints expect the prints to come matted and framed. However, I can't possibly know your taste in mats and frames, nor know what mat and frame is going to fit your decor in your home. So, most people are unhappy with whatever mat and frame I give them, and don't want the cost to include the mat and frame. Meanwhile, matting and framing pictures is expensive and laborious, and takes away from the time I could be putting into taking more photos (which ultimately is more financially productive, too).

So, I prefer to sell just the print, unmatted and unframed.

Truly hideous, and now they make it harder to loose the things. Arrgh

Evolute I see your point; mine is, there are only 2 materials a sheath can be made from, choose one! (cardboard does'nt count in my world!) If they had a simple, BRKT like leather sheath that came with the knife would it really cost Busse any more? Not likely, because many sheathmakers would like to be 'associated' with the Busse name. Now Kydex is a choice they could add if one wanted one. How is a person supposed to even enjoy their purchase if they don't have a sheath for it? i still think it's bad taste to ship a new knife sheathless, personal opinion....

A cheap tacky one would at least let us carry our new blades untill we could afford/find a better alternative !

tops has always seemed like gimmicky crap to me

I agree. I know they are prolly good quality knives with many happy users but every knife of theirs that I see reminds me of something from china. I will admit that I have never actually held a Tops knife, just from looks alone.

Skeleton knives were the rage a little while ago and I'm glad it seems to be dying away. I understand the want/need for them but the pricing and rough/sharp edges just seemed ridiculous.

As far as naked knives, I think if you get a knife the sheath should be mandatory. Kinda like buying a new car without tires. I do however understand why some makers don't include sheaths, just because you can work metal and wood doesn't mean you can also do leather/kydex. I have recieved some custom knives with some POS sheaths that detracted from the overall knife quality. I would rather deal with a crappy sheath then none at all though.

how about nylon? I think it's a decent 3rd choice.

I like em Pitbro! I really like the visibility of them, hopefully we'll get more options like that.
