Younger sister making first knife

We recognize the safety issue. No children were hurt in the making of these knives.

The distal taper and tapered tang were produced with the surface grinder:

Great thread! What I love besides seeing a new maker is the little details that jump out that show the commonality of shops.. like the halogen work lamp on a ladder and shipping boxes being recycled as bench storage because there's enough tape on it to make it tough :D

Nice thread man! And congrats too your sis for her first knife! Yo dad has some nice machinery over there, makin me drool right now.
 
I wish my first knife came out that well. I know that skill is more important than tools, but those tools sure looked helpful to me! :)
