Your #1 Top Pick in a 3-4" folder

BM 705-401.

Most useful knife I own, and has take over sole EDC primary carry (with SAK compact or Leatherman charge on right side).

Also like the 806d2, but it's too big to EDC for me, and I don't have any day to day use for the extra size.

Lets see, IF you COULD find a Sebenza for less than $200, then maybe that, but in the real world my pics would be-in no particular order:

EKI CQC10
Buck Mayo TNT
Benchmade Mini-Skirmish (check New Graham for a good price- limited editions too)

What are you kidding or something?
There's only one answer.
Sebenza.

Bomb proof and great customer support.
Great blade shape, fixed blade lockup, S30V gets wicked sharp and holds it for a long time, slim profile, wicked cool industrial looks.
But, it is expensive.

Only "one answer" to what? A question he didn't ask? You must not have read his first post.

Does anyone have a knife they just absolutely love in the 3-4" range in a folder which is a current production knife in the $200.00 or less price range?

Cheers,

I am a Spyderco guy, but the BM 710 probably squeaks into the #1 spot because of the lock.

WoW some of you guys are actually coming to your senses :D
I second the Benchmade 710HS

If the Strider Buck Tarani 882 (G-10 model) has the same ergos as an SNG (I understand that it is a liner lock--thinking of the feel which should be the same), then that would probably be elevated to the under 200s for me.

The Buck Mayo is also a great knife that I carry regularly--I do wish it had a choil, though. Despite the choil, it is still my favorite under $200 knife that I have actually handled or owned (own in this case).

note: think highly enough of the SBT 882 G10 (note that I have not handled one;)) that I am buying one as part of a pre-deployment care package for my one and only cousin that is also in the military and leaving in a couple months for OIF.

Been said before, but i think this thread can handle another repeat.

The Bm 710, in any flavor.

Mine has replaced my Ol Schrade LB5, took many years to find a knife i liked better then it.

Another vote for Buck Mayo TNT model #172. One hell of a knife for the money. You can get them off Ebay for $150 to $170, well below retail. Fits in your hand really well and has a very nice blade. Plus it is designed by Mayo himself, so it just looks cool.

I highly recommend the Benchmade 552 full-sized Ritter RSK MkI.

The standard Benchmade 551 Griptilian is a great knife too.

McCusta folder W/Ivory Corian handles and a 3-1/4" nickel damascus VG-10 core blade. (The Corian handles are great-any scratches can be taken care of with some 2000 grit sandpaper and a little light buffing. They look just like brand new again.)

Spyderco Pacific Salt: Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'...oh yeah, no rust too.

BM Sequel. I love the axis lock, perfect size blade and overall carry. My Kershaw Avalanch is nice too, but too big compared to the 707.

But I have a Mcusta Damascus with Cocobolo handle on order. It may supplant the BM707 based on the 'cool' factor alone.

I own 3, but only carry one. Old one, 1st gen, ATS-34 blade, carrying most every day for the last 5 years.

Excellent knife for the dollar.

Best Regards,
