Your best Handwatch

My fav edc watch is seiko military watch sna141p. Coupled with a olive green zulu strap, it's the best.

Now the watch I would like is a Breitling Superocean.

My '99 Omega Speedmaster Professional. Not very fond of the brand's current offerings but this one still stands out. Never get tired of it. Nope, no Breitling - the Navitimer I'd like to have is still way too expensive for me, even (employee's privilege ;))at half the retail price...

The one I'm wearing, Citizen Eco BM6400. The one I want, Omega Speedy Pro. The one I'm wearing is about 1/20th the price of the one I want, but some day I'll find a deal...

Pretty much the only watch I use is this 1970's Hamilton manual wind pocket watch there on the left.

Works for me.

YMMV.

Everybody carries a pocket-watch these days....

the cellphone. :D

Just kidding.
Pocket-watches are old school cool!

I have been wearing my Orient "Submariner" clone pretty much non stop since I got it in January. Just put it on a desert sand Zulu band and it is even better! It might not be the best for dress up with the Zulu, but it looks pretty spiffy with the original stainless steel band. It's and automatic and keeps decent time and was only about $120.

That's easy, the one I bought to wear everyday, for every occasion: Ball Engineer Chronometer. It's rugged, can stand up to hard work, but will also pass muster under a suit. The best part? The tritium numbers will softly glow for about 30 years, then Ball will replace them for free. The numbers are just the right intensity for checking the time in a movie theater or symphany--easy to read but not too bright so as to destroy night vision. The watches that use Superluminova are much too bright for me at first, and then then fade away. The Ball needs no "recharging" by light, and does not fade.

Probably the Rolex Submariner. But I doubt I will ever be caught wearing this at a campsite. Even the best mechanicals are not made for banging around in the woods IMO.

...rolex explorer 1...but not for camping; timex ironman will suffice there...

For dress wear, my Rolex 2-tone GMT that I've had for 29 yrs.
On weekends, I like my Seiko orange monster that I got a
couple of years ago for $170.00. Work wear goes to a Casio
G-Shock DW-6800 that has had 1 battery in 10 years and is
apparently indestrucable.

Good question. I'm not sure what it would be, maybe the Yao-modded Seiko 007 even though it's not the most expensive....

Until quartz watches became popular in the 1970s every watch in the woods was a mechanical one. The militaries of the world have issued a large variety of mechanical watches over the years, Rolex Subs being one of them. Personally I'd much rather have a mechanical watch outdoors...IMO there's a better chance of a battery failing than of the movement breaking.

My Breitling Superocean Steelfish. It's better looking than the SD, in my opinion, has a greater depth rating than the Nautilus, enough steel in it to protect it from anything short of an air strike, a sapphire crystal that I doubt you could cut with the Enterprise's phasers, and a COSC certified movement.
Of course, when I go camping, I wear my cheap-ass Wenger diver. But that's just because I have an irrational fear of losing stuff.

My Spring Drive Marine Master is my most worn watch for the last 4 years. It keeps great time at around +2 seconds per month and still needs me to wear it like a mechanical. This one goes in the pool, camping, yard work, washing the car, etc. I also get more compliments on it than any other watch I have owned, from IWC to Omega to Breitling, etc...

This is how it comes from Seiko:

But I have always worn mine on a pilferred and polished Sinn strap:

Rugged and reliable, Check out the SINN U1. The thing is a tank, but pretty cool looking. Mike, nice rolex. They are worth it.

I'm not a watch junky, but I studied up on Rolex a year before I made my purchase. That watch is the be all end all for me. I'm just lucky to find my grail watch at such a young age.

My one really nice watch:

I want to pick up a Tag Monaco some time down the road though.

I see your Marathon GSAR has "US government" on the face, mine dosn't have that.

Whats the difference, just the vintage or is it a different model
