Your best Handwatch

Just a dual-faced G-Shock. Cheap, truly rugged beater.

THESE though have caught my fancy (photos from Heinnie.com) -

It was the run they had in stock at county comm when I decided to buy. The GSARs they have now are all marked US. I think earlier contracts didn't have it.

So it dosn't mean any thing then ?, I got mine a few years ago so it must just be an early one.

They are real nice watches actually. I sold mine and got it back off the guy not
too long a go because I just kept looking at buying a new one again. :foot::p

I have the bottom one in the WR100 (green canvas strap) version. It's a great watch, and for about $90 on Amazon, can't be beat with the Eco Drive.

Nothing different other than the markings as far as I know. I love the watch I've put a couple scratches on the bezel, but the crystal seems to be bomb-proof, not a mark on it. I'm trying to decide if I want to get the stainless bracelet for it. I keep switching between the rubber and a Zulu band. When I bought it they had a special going and it came with a free strap, and a nice maratac 16 slot watch/knife case.

I'v still just got the standard rubber strap on my one but the SS band
would make a whole new watch out of that piece IMO.

Seiko monster right now. I saw a ton of ads in a Town and Country magazine for 35K and up watches, and they just were not appealing to me.

I have been wearing my Orient "Submariner" clone pretty much non stop since I got it in January. Just put it on a desert sand Zulu band and it is even better! It might not be the best for dress up with the Zulu, but it looks pretty spiffy with the original stainless steel band. It's and automatic and keeps decent time and was only about $120.
All the guys in the Affordables forum over at Watchuseek are crazy for Orient. That sub looks nice. If I might make a suggestion: if you are going to have it on a NATO or Zulu, consider putting it on a "Bond" NATO or Zulu. To mirror the combo popularized in Goldfinger.

There are companies making the strap with the light red, but most Bond straps just have twin grey regimental straps. I think it looks great.
I'm not a watch junky, but I studied up on Rolex a year before I made my purchase. That watch is the be all end all for me. I'm just lucky to find my grail watch at such a young age.
Ain't it, though? My Breitling is my grail, and ought to last me a lifetime. That leaves me, a watch junky, free to buy other watches.

A Casio GW-610LJ-1JF: It's solar, atomic time, stopwatch, countdown timer, 5 alarms [including 1 snooze], world time, auto-backlight, Asian market only, I believe, blah blah...

It's inarguably one of my favorites, and I've worn it almost exclusively for over a month, at this point. It's not as big a watch as I'd like to wear [the face is only 30mm, overall size is 45mm x 55mm], but it's a real beauty and a pleasure. As you can see, it has a negative display, gold on black, with the backlighting being green against the black background. :D

The first pic is a wrist shot from when I first got the watch, the second is a stock website photo

Enjoy,
Frank

I have only a few watches, but the one below is my favourite. It is a Aeromatic 1912, model GMT A1335.
