Ok, here's the scenario: you are inserted directly into Tom Hank's exact situation in the movie Castaway. When you sit down to start opening all those FedEx boxes that washed up, one box is a box that a fellow forumite was shipping to an eagerly awaiting bladeforums exchange customer. What knife would you like that to be?
(no hatchets guys, let's keep this one to knives. I have nothing against axes, hawks, etc, but it's my thread :D )

I'd want it to be a hatchet (just kidding)

Probably a buck 119 would be fine. Something fancier in stainless would be fine, but not necessary.
 
The one with an emergency radio and a flare gun? :D

Personally I would want something some what large, easy to sharpen and stainless. Did the package also include a sharpmaker?

If not stainless then the KaBar Large heavy Bowie. If stainless then... I'll have to come back to you on that one. Maybe a Randal?

P.S. Are the the same Old Painless from theboxotruth.com/ ?
 
I haven't seen castaway but I assume its a tropical / subtropical island

If it's tropical and I'm not allowed a hatchet, then a Fallkniven A2.
