Your choice of knife?

I guess if I had a QRTRMASTER knife I would be a High speed and Low drag zombie killing machine. I could pick any thing out of the BudK catalog as well, I am sure they still honor the Warranty even in the Apocalypse.

If I were going with just a knife, it would probably be something like an Esee 6. Simple, durable, sized just right and easy to sharpen.

If I could have anything bladed, I'd go with the Zombie Tools Spit. It's modeled after the Zulu Ikwa spear and seems almost ideal for dealing with the thrusts and chops necessary to deal with zombies all day. Plus it's long enough to keep some distance, while being short enough to use in indoor environments.

I would take a load of people who can’t run as fast as me.

That's what the knife is for. To stab your friend in the leg.

Just like dive knives. When the sharks come around, cut your dive buddy and get out of there.

Works with Grizzly bears and alligators too.

Reminds me of a saying.
You can't outrun a bear but you can sure out run the guy you were out there with.

Imagine you are in a zombie Apocalypse time, and you are at run for your life. What knife would you love to have for your defense?
want to know about knife, just making conversation interesting.
Let me know your choice, ill share mine.
I just so happened to have just picked up my knife choice a couple days ago! Zombies. is the only answer I could come up with when my wife asked, "what the hell are you going to use that for?" .

Easy answer - Carothers HC in d3v :) I'd trust it over just about anything. +Leather motorcycle suit, instant immunity to human teeth bites... that has to be the #1 reason I can't stand WD series, too much stupidity in every character

That’s funny. great knife though.

My wife just shakes her head or says “you’re an idiot” every time I try to justify a large blade just delivered. :D She gets my ESEE 6 Ans similar knives, but a recent 24” total length machete was puzzling to her. She won’t be laughing if ever do see zombies, vampires, urban bears, aliens, etc.....

If you're a paladin, you would be able to turn undead with a sword in your hand. ;)
That's why +5 holy sword were invented..
Thank you! I thought I hadn't forgotten the rules (although, granted, I never played past 2nd Edition).

In zombie defense, I'd need a tool, not a fighting knife, because I'd need something with which I to fashion a wooden spear (a machete, hatchet, or an SAK with a saw in a pinch). I just don't understand why there aren't more characters in The Walking Dead carrying sharpened sticks, short lances, spears, or the like (only two regulars, really). I'm a big fan of the Maori taiaha as it can bludgeon, spear, and even cut one's opponent while being very portable on foot (unlike a long lance or a pike). I don't want to be in arm's reach of a zombie, and if I'm not shooting a bad guy, I don't want him near me. I suppose if I have to use a knife on a zombie, then, it would be a long bayonet on the end of a long gun. M1905 bayonet on my M1, M1907 on my SMLE, M1917 on my M1897 or Mossberg 500 (yeah, I put a heat shield/bayo lug on one of my M500 barrels).

Remember that for millennia the primary weapon of a soldier was the spear, halberd, bill, glaive, or (when mounted) lance. Even the samurai preferred the bow in their early years and continued to use the naginata and yari in battle. The sword has almost always been the sidearm. The knife is a tool and at most a sidearm, for eating and building and only as a last ditch weapon. Why? Because you just don't want anyone intent on doing you harm getting close.

Here endeth the lesson.

I think i will go for this https://swordsswords.com/knives/bowie-knives/persian-blood-hunting-bowie-knife.html as it seems long enough to attack the zombie before it reaches me, plus it will not be very heavy to carry i guess. Spear is a good option but i guess it will be heavy and not very quick to draw and in case of a 2 to 3 zombies attacking at the same time handling a spare would be kind of difficult.

I couldn't disagree more. The spear is always "drawn" because it's in your hand or leaning against you or you leaning against it. If you're fighting more than one opponent, you need length to create distance or you're hosed. This knife is heavier than a long machete and probably not as useful (though if it can cut down a sapling to make a spear, I'd use it for that). But it does have the benefit of allowing you to reenact the famous Paul Hogan line.

This would be my official carry knife should the Zompocalypse ever occur. After i run out of ammo and am dead, someone more skilled than me can pick it up and kill zombies in style.

OK, now this is so cool that I have to ease my intransigence and make it my carry after 17" bayonet on the Mossberg and 7' spear with steel buttcap.
