Hello all,

I am new to the forum. I have been a long time reader, but this is my first post here. I would have to say my dream knife would be a Randall Model 14 attack. I almost bought one for around $750. I just couldn't bring myself to blow that kind of cash. Next would be a Swamp Rat Ratweiler. I had one, and stupidly sold it on ebay.

I have no dream knife but a dream steel.
HAP40, a member of powder HSS product family of Hitachi.
Not an easily available steel for a hobby knife making person.
In hand plane cutting competition held in Japan, it has some significant presence.

One day I will make a blade with HAP40.
