Your Dream SFO?

Im a simple man but Ide give WAY more $$ than I would ever dream of for a #77 with the match strike (or whatever its called) long pull clip blade in Natural Canvas Micarta. Single blade, could have regular bolsters or longer Barlow bolsters, either way ide wear it out every single day!

Matt

A 63 Mako with an H1 serrated blade, stainless liners and bolsters, and checkered (not jigged) blue or green bone scales.

Or, if the Sypderco collab above ain't gonna work out, I'd settle for a 64 swing guard, 1095 long slim satin clip point, long nail nick, German silver bolster(s), and blue or green smooth or checkered bone scales.

A 25 single blade drop point and a clip point, both in jigged bone Yellow Rose.

GEC made automatic traditionals for Schrade awhile back. My dream SFO is a GEC auto, on the 72 frame, satin new style clip point, satin bolster, steel liners and pins, in polished stag, with houndstooth shield.

Three bladed Senator in a whittler fashioned back spring.
Around 3 3/8 oal.
Tipped bolsters or Rat Tail Bolsters
Pre-ban ivory.
Bar shield centered.
1095 steel.

Main blade - Spear long match strike pull.
Secondaries -Wharncliffe and Nail file with a blunt hook on the end of the file
Carbon steel liners

Oh

And one in ebony as well. 😜

I'd love to see a run of #82 Dixie stockmen in 440C, preferably in red stag, elk or ram's horn.

I'd like to see a run of double blade 77 Barlows, large clip, small spear, in chestnut saw cut bone. Not very imaginative, but there it is.

I would make a curved Barlow on the 74 frame and want it in several blade shapes and combos. First would be -Elk and 440c, with a caplifter secondary:D

That is all. ;)

Happy Weekend! :)

Ideally it would be a Swayback Jack in barehead configuration with the wharncliffe main and pen secondary in 1095. Slabs would be wood only with Osage, African Blackwood, or Cocobola being choices off the top of my head. Brass liners and undecided on shield type.

Rough rider half whittler pattern but 25% bigger, burlap micarta covers and Elmax.

A Jumbo Jack, these are big, beefy jacks, just feel so right, big spear and large pen, jumbo is in the middle.

I'd want a GEC stockman about this size. I really love this stockmans. I just really want one with carbon steel, and all the fancy polishing, lined/ fluted bolsters, and a deep chestnut/ autumn jigged bone. I love these two case knives because they each have great fit and finish and a stout back spring. I like relatively strong springs.

It is missing the match strike long pull, but have you seen this one? It might be what you're looking for.

I'd like to see a jumbo jack also. If GEC was to make it, then they would need to make a new pattern. The 77 is 3.75 inches closed. I would think a Jumbo jack would be around 4.25 inches closed.

If you could work with one of the traditional manufacturers what would your Special Factory Order knife look like? You could do any combination of existing patterns, blade styles, and handle materials.

If it were an existing pattern, I would take a GEC #66 Calf Roper stockman in 440C with ebony covers.

If I were allowed to tweak the pattern, I would like to see two 440C blades on a #66 frame, with each pivoting from the opposite end. Sheepsfoot and Clip. Nail nicks on opposite sides of the frame so that either could be opened with my right thumb. Ebony covers.

I'd like to have GEC's new 13 pattern in "Speaker" configuration but with a Wharncliff main blade and checkered ivory scales.

Spear and pen, the spear with the match striker long pull, in a Northfield #77 Washington Jack in African Blackwood or Gabon Ebony scales.

Something in desert ironwood that grew near where I live.
