When you wake up in the morning, what's the knife you always strap on? Which one handles all the stuff you need it to in a day and which ones are there for you when you when things get a little FUBAR? Thanks for the opinions. My EDC is my PE Spyderco Lil' Temp, which is backed up by a Spyderco Military in my waistband most days. When stuff gets rough, a Becker Extreme with a seven-inch S30V blade comes out of its place, or a Spyderco Bob Lum Tanto fixed blade.

My EDC is a Matt Cucchiara Mini Scrapper "Gecko" knife. When I am not going any where, I just carry the one knife in the house. (along with a flashlight.) But if I was to go out, I would add another one of my knives; the Atwood Solar Arc.....

HA I put 3 on. My SAK Hunter(old liner lock dont remember model), Spyderco Mili and DDR Gunhammer. All 3 will handle the needs I just like havin em:D and i carry them all almost equally, but the DDR wins out for coolness factor.

Actually vary what I carry.

I will either carry a Manix, Strider SNG, or Chris Reeves Sebenza.

I also carry a fixed blade. I will either carry Burchtree Cashmere, Burt Foster Blue Collar Hunter, or a Kirdashi from Murray Carter.

I see you like to carry the low end stuff;) That Burt Foster....thats a sweet blade my friend.

You know, I spent years with just factory knives. Never really understood what all the fuss was about with a handmade knife. Show you just how stupid I've been in the past!

This Foster knives (I have two currently--also a Blue Collar Camp knife) and the Burchtree knife I own are keepers. 1095 for the Foster knives and W2 for the Burchtree knife.

I also purchased a Buxton EDC 52100 and a Wilson 10V with the good quality ironwood. I've never carried either of these blades.

Almost all my fixed blades now are forged, if they are not busse that is. I dont have a Foster yet, but I picked up a burchtree just recently online. You've got good taste.

Having come from a background of pure factory I've certainly taken advantage of the information from this site to pick people to make my knives.
The only problem I've run into is there seem to be plenty of fine makers out there any my wallet just cannot support knives from the all.

Burt Foster lives about 15 minutes from my place of work. I've actually been able to visit his shop and examine knives he was creating for other people. Gentleman through and through with a lot of patience with someone who had limited experience with forged knives.

I rotate between an Opinel, a SAK and a Lone Wolf City Knife.

When I want a beater, I use the Ka-Bar Dozier.

When one handed opening is an issue, I carry Benchmades in M2 steel- a 730, a 705 or a 710.

When at the gym, jogging, walking, etc I carry (IWB) a Spyderco Native with a PS blade.

On my housecoat I have one of my own utilitarian fixed blades in an Onscene tactical sheath- nice they way they clip onto housecoats. Convenient, use the knife for almost everthing.

On my pants I carry one of my fixed blades on one side riding the belt along with a large Katz folder on the other side on the belt, and a Spyderco Police on my front pocket.

Now for their purposes. The Spyderco is used mainly for food and clean work. I use the Katz for day to day uses and for cutting into things that I wouldn't want food to come into contact with, and the same thing with the fixed blade, but the fixed blade does the large jobs better suited for large knives.

I carried my early Benchmade 705 g-10 ats-34 for about 3 years, then switched to my mini-grip for about three years. I get comfortable with something and I tend to stay with it. However lately its been my Spyderco delica, or a Kershaw vapor, once and a while I'll carry a Cold Steel voyager. Some days I'll even go the other direction and pull out one of my old case stockmans or mini trapper. I guess I like to many knives to have a favorite anymore...

Small Micarta Sebenza, clipped in my watch pocket. Often backed up by a Spyderco CF/BG-42 Military IWB.

Switch around.

Various Spydercos
Bradley Cutlery Alias II
Kershaw Ken Onion Whirlwind

most stuff, it'd be my Buck/Mayo 172. Rougher stuff would be my Strider GB. Of course, once I get my Devastator, the 172 will probably get carried less, and once my Jones Brothers Responder comes in the spring my GB will probably get a break as well.

My EDC is a Cold Steel Scimitar. Sharper and scarier than hell...designed so when your actually in a stab mode the liner lock really locks better because of the upswept blade. It's good for 90% of the stuff I use a knife for and I would stake my life on it for defense. Has great cutting area and will go thru nylon rope like a hot knife thru butter. My other EDC is an Emerson Tanto...both are free of doo dads and just work like a good knife.
