How did you end up liking Emerson knives? I'll start. :)
I was working at Reptiland and carrying a Gerber LST when I up-graded to a Spyderco Endura. The Endura was such a nice folder that I decided not to use it as a work knife. I saw that Smoky Mt. Knife Works had Emerson Knives on sale for a Special $80. I thought that these knives looked 'OK" and ordered one, a CQC-7B. End of story.

I'm not totally sure how I landed with EKI but I remember my first one like something I'll never forget :D

I can't remember now but I think it was a half serated mini-7b,
I really liked that knife but it helped me realise I hate serations.
It was also the first knife I ever pimped and is actually long gone now.
After that knife I knew I was on to a good thing and it just went down hill from there really.

Ahh, the good old days

I saw the 7 on the net, but didn't think I'd like the CG. Then one day at a local sporting goods store, I saw a CRKT kiss with the same grind and decided to buy the inexpensive knife just to see what the CG was all about. Ended up liking the design and ordering a 7 and that got the ball rolling. I acquired all three sizes of the 7 and a 16 before I got sidetracked by a Sebenza, but I'm not done acquring Emersons yet!! Guess I need a HD 7 to fill out my lineup...

I picked up a Commander at my local FFL. It was the single most comfortable knife that I had ever held. I convinced the store owner to make me a deal on it and that was that.

i used spydercos for years, and i still really love em, But i needed something more tactical, for self defense. i sold some spydercos and replaced to a few EKI's.

Well as you fellas know, I received my first Emerson CQC7a two weeks ago.
Asked a couple question on here before purchasing it, I really really like this knife! Sooo I just ordered an A-100 to keep the 7 company.

The straight handles and blades on these two models are my style/comfort zone :p I have lot's of spydies, and there great, but discovering the EM'S gives me another option for carry. Have some Benchmade's also,I just don't like them, don't know why, just don't.

Few years back I am read Rogue Warrior where oneself EKI knives remember.
In present time I own Mini CQC7 with half serrations

I liked the look and style of Emersons for quite a while, just never got one. I picked up a LaGriffe about 1 1/2 years ago and loved it. Finally took the plunge on a folder and got a 10 last summer. Loved that one too. They make an impression in person that you just don't get from pictures. Holding is believing. :D

i saw kelly mccanns website on his benchmade emerson and thats when i got my first one a benchmade emerson spec war cqc7 then i got a cqc7b wave then my commanders havent looked back . oh yeah the commasnder is probably one of my most faves of all my knives .

About 13 years ago I was the Command Diving Officer at a US Navy installation near D.C. We needed some good, sturdy underwater tools, and titanium was just coming into its own as a material available in mass produced knives. We started buying up Spyderco and Benchmade knives to test them, looking primarily for knives that could stand up to lots of time underwater, and still handle real-world tasks.

Benchmade had the CQC7 with three different blade types (at the time, six when you add in the partially serated edge), and one was made of titanium impregnated with carbide. This was a seriously light, seriously expensive knife (considering they were basically throw-away knives for our purposes). The titanium didn't hold an edge for crap, but the carbide impregnation helped considerably.

When it was all over, I had the long blade version, short blade version (in both black and silver blades), and the titanium version. I still use a bead-blasted version regularly, and the blade is in as good a shape as it was 10 years ago. It's been all over the world, locked with a padlock to the inside of my suitcase when I travel (because the TSA used to be a bunch of thieving bastards for the first year or two after 9-11).

While it's not the true Emerson version, the blade does say "Emerson CQC7", so that's good enough for me; but, I will be buying a few more Emerson knives in the next year or so.

I have only the LaGriffe and like it nice but I wish it were double ground or ground on the other side of the blade.

The liner lock folders are not for me.

i've had a henckels swiss army type utility/folding knife since i was 7, carried it everywhere. over the years had many different kinds, until i read about emersons, tried it at a local shop and have since graduated to the minicom.

i think i'll be using this for as long as i have it.

Zorkd---I think you will too.
I left but came back to Emerson Knives.

Believe it or not but there was a time I sold off all but 2 of my EKIs just to end up buying all the same models again a year or so later

I have pleanty other brands of knives but just didnt find the homely feel one gets from the EKIs

Even though I am new to the Emerson Cult, I agree, Homely is good ;)
I have a lot of pretty knives, all they do is sit there looking prissy.
My wife thinks I'm an Emerson:p

I bought a Bullnose Karambit, which led to a Super Karambit.
It went from there.:D
