Your Everday Carrying Knife

RF pocket-Spyderco Native.

....and just for fun, lately a Busse Natural Outlaw in a Kenny Rowe S.O.B. sheath. Hardly know it's back there.

I'll second the Buck 110 - there was a time that it was the standard in belt pouch carried folders - still should be.

I have one - it's not my everyday carry - mostly carry it when camping or hunting. Good knife.

A plain ol' pocketknife. PJ Tomes made this front-lockback in stainless steel, pearl, and 420V. The blade is zero bevel flat ground from 3/32 inch stock. The blade is three inches long. It is 3 3/4 inches long closed and 6 7/8 inches open. This knife has super smooth action and great walk and talk (click). It has been my daily carry knife for three months. I love it.

Sorry for the poor pictures. I should have cleaned the fingerprints off the knife first.

I discovered this forum about a year and half ago and until that time I didn't have any knives that lent themselves to "carry."

I got the bug and bought a Spyerco Wegner jr. I carried that relentlessly until recently when, after much deliberation, I purchased an MT SOCOM Elite. I now carry that, just as relentlessly. Jack

Does anyone carry a knife that is a family heirloom or at leas a knife given by a grandfather or such?

Rick1955, I have about 10 pocket knives that were handed down to me that are very rare, In fact one of them Bernard Levine has never heard of but said it was definately pre1880, tortoise shell, european style w/corkscrew, So-snappy and well made.

Anyway Rick, I don't carry any of them. I just save them and mess with them now and then. My thing is to watch a good movie (at home) pick out a special knife and open it and close it (snap snap) throughout the whole movie. It took a special woman to put up with me.

Doesn't anyone but me carry a plain old pocketknife anymore?

Actually, I've looked into purchasing a Case but was shocked to see how expensive they are for a lil' ole pocket knife.

I think people are leaning towards folders since they have the advantage of locking. In addition, fad and fashion dictates it.

P.S. Found my CRKT KISS I thought I lost...stupid pocket clips!

My everyday carry is one of three Spyderco's or my BM42. wouldn't put pants on without at least one knife.

Always one or two of:
- MT Socom
- Small Sebbie
- SpeedTech Synergy
- CRKT M16
- MT MiniSocom
- SOG Vision

And since last Friday
- Mike Snody's Explorer-Ex (first fixed blade that I intend to have as a regular carry)

Used to carry BM710 a lot before I let a friend of mine borrow it (as his daily carry).

Kris

On Work days:

a BM 910 Stryker in my right pants pocket;and
a BM ? Darkstar in my back pocket. Usually that is it

Off days can be another story. Last Saturday I got to the range and rummaged through my pockets:

a BM 910 Stryker in my right pants pocket;
a BM ? Darkstar in my back pocket;
a CRKT ? in my jacket pocket;
a (different model) CRKT in in my left pants pocket.

I really like that BM 910 Stryker and the Dark Star (Actually I really like all of them).

Just ordered a MT SOCOM from our forum sponsor. Now where to carry it?

Take care all.

As always, this like is subject to change.

(this list goes in order from most often carried to least often carried)

Users:
1) KA BAR D2 xtreme Drop point folder
2) CRKT small Seahawk
3) CS Large Voyager
4) Buck Oddesy

Carriers:
1) CS Scimitar
2) McHen & Will larger BM Axis Lock
3) Spyderco Bob Lum
4) MOD manual LadyHawk.
4) Case Canoe Pearl Handle
5) a couple others......

In your teeth, pirate style!?

Now I normally have at least 3 knives on me but nothing like you carry!

Most days I have a Schrade Middleman 3 Blade Stockman in my left pants pocket, a Leatherman Micra in my right pants pocket, and a SwissBuck TaskMate II in my briefcase.

Now on my days off, it's a who other story. And it varies day to day.

Depends on my anticipated need for the day. Usually a MT mini-socom for daily carry and a Spyderco Wegner if I plan on outdoor activities, all in plainedge versions.
