Nyclads were originally marketed by Smith and Wesson for the J frames... for us old farts they were one of the first of the purpose built personal defense cartridges by a recognized manufacturer, and often confused as the teflon coated cop killer KTW by the media ....there is probably more experience and data on them by medical examiners due to the length of service

I actually know how the Nyclad functions, and also carry them occasionally. I am glad to seem them back in Federal's lineup, as they provide a standard pressure loadout. My point however, was given the choice between say a 135gr GDHP and a Nyclad, I will pick the Gold Dot because of its design characteristics. Nothing I have seen leads me to believe that the Nyclad, or any of the choices I have made are more devastating than any other. Pistol bullets poke small holes in targets, can't see how you can drastically improve on that.
