Your Favorite Camping Pot/Kettle

Has anyone tried that small anodized Coleman set I've seen in Walmart lately? That one looks promising.

You mean this one, right? I love it.

FYI---There are 4 sizes of MSR stowaway pots. They do not all fit inside the next one bigger. I store stuff inside of them. I use a clean dish towel/dish cleaning cloth to keep them from rattling or some clean wash cloths or what ever suits you. In the Army, clean socks were the ticket to keep your mess lit & utensils from making noise.

Thanks for the info~tips. I do store stuff inside pots to save space and mess. I carried an egg in my chest pocket the other day, wrapped in a sandwhich bag. I was happy to see it whole when unpacking. I feel that I have enough pots now to cover most needs. Lately my gaze has been focusing on bow saws and a larger stove. I guess that I'll need a bow saw or somesuch to get bigger logs. I really want to try to cook proper meals on a winter fire. Many things to try yet. I find this all to be quite fun and interesting, whether I screw something up or not. These experiences are all learning tools.
:D

Got one!!!
Seems I still don't have any info, as it arrived in my hands through no effort of my own  :D !!
(Thanks; you know who you are)

Great piece of kit...!!
Now if they just made a Titanium Nalgene bottle...

Also got to play with an Emberlit Titanium Twig Stove - Now THAT is another great piece of kit!

I got the GSI Stainless Steel Kettle and have used it now 4 times in the past 4-5 weeks. Mostly for boiling water but I love it! Really nice sturdy, stable, handle stays up, and it isnt too narrow when opening. I will probably do the MSR as well because it is wide enough to act as a pan!....could do small pancakes in it, saute, boil water....etc. I wasnt as big on it initially but I am now after thinking of this more for just water....taking a frying pan and a kettle is too much space this gives away to just enough to cover all your needs. It doesnt however hang over a fire the way it is but with some modification it could. I got the Evernew Ti #3 pot and kinda wishedI'd past on it. It is ok...very thin, seems fragile and just something I would not reach for. I know many like the weight and maybe that is its place but I would still take other stuff first.

Nice.

I just did a google search. Seems Vargo has one very similar on the market now. It's the Ti-Lite 750ml.

The Vargo looks interesting. The one in my pic is a Stoic 700 that I got from Backcountry.com for $20. I looked for a link, but can't find it - they must be out of stock. I also have a Snow Peak that works well.

Not a Nalgene, but this Vargo BOT sure is interesting. I just can't break down and spend the money they want for it (but I'm still kicking it around :) ). My Nalgene 38 oz stainless weighs 12.0 oz. My Kleen Kanteen 40 oz weighs 9.6 oz. The BOT weighs 4.7 oz, according to the site. I'm just not sure the cost is justified...

I hate to say this but....

My oldest and favorite pot is a simple aluminum pot that I purchased in a supermarket section.
I broke off the handles so it would pack in a stuff sack and use a small pot holder
Had it 35 years and it still cooks ....

After getting some real field use, and just using it around the house, the snow peak ti mini solo set has really grown on me quite a bit. Used it out in the national forest this weekend for freeze dried meals, coffee, cider, etc. Did a great job and super light. Glad I stuck with it. One of my jerk friends scored a GSI Pinnacle for 30 bucks. Jerk. Seemed like a well thought out kit.

Nothing wrong with that. I would use whatever does the job.

i've used the stowaway pots quite a bit & they are awesome, i also have the MSR alpine 4 set which are nice for basic camping...
however recently i've been enamored with the SRO bush pot... with that, the SRO 25oz. stainless cup & lid, & a 40oz. klean kanteen wide mouth, i'm comfortable that all my camp/trail cooking needs are covered!
