your favorite firesteel striker?

hawkings, check the video i linked to before, it shows a safe way to throw a great shower of sparks with a sharp knife spine. it pretty much shows what stretch described.

I use the included striker, but just on the edge of the handle part, where it is straight, with no teeth.

The best striker I have is the back of a Spyderco Native blade - the thumb grooves make a fantastic striker.

It's funny that you mention this, precisely this morning I tested a recently purchased ferrocium rod with my Native and I just found how good stryker is the grooved section of the blade.

I have a couple of ferrocium/magnesium blocks and I keep them stored with a hacksaw stryker, I use to add an edge to the plain side of the hacksaw to improve its spark-throwing capability (it's also helpful to scrap the magnesium in case the file of my leatherman wave was not available).

Regards.
