Your favorite fun knife to flick

Pretty much all my ZT's are fun to open. The 0560 for sure. Also, mini grip, Para 2, and Kershaw Echelon (just getting use to the Echelon just got it today but its fun to play with).

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but never really found the Military flickable. I have three of them, and not one flicks. Not a big fan of flicking anyhow, so no big deal. But I do love having my left and right hand models in both hands, and trying to synchronize the snicks when the locks engage. What's even better, is where I work no one bats an eye when I am playing with my knives on break or lunch time. But, I work on a Military base and lots of guys, and even some of the woman, carry knives. Some even carry two, as I do.

I've only got two knives that are designed as flickers. A Kershaw JYD and a JYD II TI SG2. And neither of them flicks worth a d--n. Both require wrist movement along with finger input to get them open.

Anything with an axis lock. Also enjoying my cryo, with the flipper of course, but it also fires well with the thumb studs.

Let's not forget the skyline, either, such a fantastic affordable flipper.

CBXer55 there is a nack to flipping the Military you have to stick your thumb way in the spydee hole and shoot your thumb up , it takes alot of practice to get but once it works you will be able to repeat it . It is easier to flip from underneath.

I'm just not much into flicking. If you pay attention to the junction between the blade and the lockbar on a Military, or any other knife with a liner lock for that matter, you will note that when you flick a blade, the lockbar moves further over on the blade. Which to me means you are exerting extra force on that junction causing more rapid wear. Eventually you'll wear the joint so bad the lockbar will hit the inside surface of the opposite scale. At that point I would venture the knifes useful days are over.

I've already worn out one of my liner locks to that sad point. A Spyderco to boot, although one of the old SOLO models that they marketed back in the late 80's/early 90's. Lockbar hits the inside of the opposite scale and does not fully and securely lock the blade any longer. It is not a knife that can be dis-assembled, so off to the display case it went. ;-(

I refuse to treat my Military's this way. The one I have from 92 has never been flicked. The lockbar still engages the tang at almost the same point it did when new in 92. I suspect if I had made a habit of flicking it, it would be retired by now.

Pick up a Ti Military and you don't have to worry about that. Love flipping mine. Suuuuuuuper smooth

The Military is one of the most flickable knives on the market.
Both of mine have seen every opening method thousands of times over the years. The lockup hasnt moved and is still solid as a rock.
There are a dozen ways to open knives with spydie holes and I dont think ive ever heard of their liner-locks wearing out either.
Another fun flicker is the BM SHOT Mini Onslaught with hole opener and axis lock.

My fav. flicker:
