Your favorite "small" folder?

Case Chestnut Bone CV Peanut. Perfect size small folder. For more modern styles, a Kershaw Chive was my EDC for 5 years or so, was the first nice knife I ever owned. BIt heavy for its size, but very useful bladeshape.

I carry a Boker Sub Com at work. 2" blade. 4.5" total length when opened, but the handle still fills the hand to give you good control when cutting.
.
AUS8 blade, which I have measured at 58.7HRC.

Pretty inexpensive, too. I bought mine for about $25 + shipping.

Recommended.

I'm looking to buy a folder around 2.5", and just would like your thoughts.

As long as you don't mind not having a lock then almost any slipjoint will do. Personally I love my Queen Gunstock with D2 blades. (It'll come dull but will be great after sharpening.)

I love my SOG Blink. Easy to use, good pocket clip, decent steel and it's got a pretty high fiddle factor.

It's an oldie but a goodie: my WH Black and Tan Lancet (just like the rightmost knife in the picture). It weighs less than an ounce, is sharp as a razor, and is classy enough to go with any "gentlemanly" activities you may be doing. Unfortunately, it's also out of production, but you can find one (and some of its cousins in the picture) on auctions sites sometimes.

As far as knives in production, I love my Benchmite for a short sturdy knife.

I like the Spyderco Walker liner lock at 2.6" and the Moki Glory at 2.6". For a slightly shorter blade, I like the Spyderco Kopa (2.4") and the Spyderco Kiwi. The lockback Kiwi is no longer in production, and the same goes for the Kopa. Some dealers still seem to have the Kopa in stock. I also have a Moki Aries, but they make a number of smaller knives with shorter blades in VG10. The Moki knives are really nice - the company manufactured the Kiwi and Kopa for Spyerco, and some knives for WH.

Very surprised how much I like this knife actually. I'm usually not a fan of liner locks but the added safety on this knife won me over.

Personally, a sub 3 inch folder favourite of mine is the Benchmade 585 (Mini-Barrage), good little knife, sufficient grip in the hand for me, nice, sharp blade and a great company who's standing behind their product. While you did want a 2.5 inch or less, I feel what you get for the extra bit of length/weight is worth going up the half of an inch.

You can't go wrong with any of the smaller Kershaw folders either though, or any Kershaw product in general for that matter.

For a more modern knife I'd have to say my Boker plus Subcom you would be suprised how good the ergos are for such a small knife however my favorite small "traditional" knife would have to be my Case peanut in rough black.

I guess small means different things to different folks. When I think small folder I'm thinking of a blade length around 3.25". My favorite "small" folder then is/was the Boker Titan Defender I had, that was stolen last year. Now the Spyderco Perrin PPT is my favorite small folder.:)

+1 on the peanut. Case's CV steel is great.

Yep, my choices have been said already. Case peanut in cv and chestnut bone, with a boker subcom riding backup. Perfect office/nkp-friendly combo.
