Your favorite tomahawk?

I’ve kinda got a thing for hand forged hawks too. I also find I’m always trying to make my hatchets more hawk-like.

I favor heads in the 12-16 oz range, on a 12-14” haft.

Some real beauties on that North River page.

I like my Lee Reeves hawk. Had a Lee Reeves double bit with a curly maple handle, but couldn't bring myself to use it. The hawk hung on osage orange isn't as pretty to me, so I swing it. 😀
Any photos of your Reeves hawk?

I was trying to learn how to throw and after throwing my cold steel norse hawk it lasted about 6 or 8 throws before the wood shaft broke in half. I did get it to stick a few times before it broke which was neat. Is this typical of throwing tomahawks or did I just get unlucky with the grain of wood or something? Should I get something with a metal or polymer shaft for throwing instead? Any suggestions on a replacement shaft source for my current axe head too? I know it was cheap so I wasn't expecting much but I really thought I would have gotten more use out of it than that. If I want to learn this as a hobby what is a good robust tool that will last the impacts of throwing?

Who made the smaller one? I love the shape!

It was made by a knifemaker friend.
I use this hatchet for carving work on my kuksas and spoons.
It doesn't have a website, just social media, Instagram.
He does beautiful works.
It was awarded this weekend as the best Tomahawk at a fair in São Paulo - Brazil.

So here you can see all of them together. Mini Loki, Silent Night and Jarl Spike.

The Jarl has the same bit at the mini Loki. The silent night is different. But has the chisel spike more like the Jarl. The silent night is heavier than the mini Loki with the crusher pommel.

The jarl spike has a spike pommel which is pretty mean!

Hard to pick a favorite of these three
