What a shame. Where did you score that, damned hard to find?

My own road to perdition began with a Ratweiler, purchased from Tyrkon Lawson (miss that hog) in June 2006.

First Busse were these 'Ganza scores, Sept, 06

All gone now, but there are still a few left around.

Straight-handled Satin Jack CG. Still got it. Prior to that was a Camp Tramp, and I've still got that one, too.

My first package with Busse content arrived about a year and a half ago and contained a NMFBM, NMSFNO and ASH-1.
I'll never forget wrapping my hand around them for the first time and feeling the contour of the handles and the mass of the blades.

Had some Busse Kin before this one. This HR was my first Straight Up Busse though. She still sits in my safe, but a safe queen she is not and never will be! :D

My first was a fat Active Duty which was a little thick for slicing so it went to Ban Tang for some modding awhile later. It's still one of my favourite blades to reach for and, in addition to being a great walkabout knife, it makes a near-perfect paring knife for the kitchen.

Many years ago, when INFI was new, I ordered a SHBM, SHSH II, and a SHBA.
When I placed the order, the Battle Mistress was the only one advertised as INFI.
A year or so later, these came in the mail:

By the time my knives were made, the switchover to INFI was complete, so they're all INFI.
What a great bunch of knives. A couple hundred Busses later, they're still my favorites.

Kind of like Bob Dylan sang: "I started out on Burgundy and soon hit the harder stuff..." First a RMD a couple of years ago and then I read references on BF to INFI. I snagged a beautiful Boss Street Proto on eBay and it's been downhill financially and uphill knife-wise since then.

BATAC was my first. Bought two CG's and an LE and would say that the LE was about as solid feeling a knife as I've ever had -- with the possible exception of the ASH-1 CG.

Sorry to say the LE and CG are now gone, hopefully being used by other Hogs. Too many other Busses that I liked more, including the shorter Boss Street and longer ASH-1 and SJTAC.

We probably all wish we had discovered Busse a little earlier. I certainly do, especially when I see those old Badgers and other straight handle knives. Speaking of that, the Anniversary Battle Mistress should be a heck of a knife -- pretty darn long but a taste of old school Busse.
