Your first Busse

The black on black 'Razor, bottom in following pic, that I bought from Skunk at the Company Store back in June '06. My first step on that slippery slope to Busse Combat "pigletdom".

My first I got on Friday, 8 February 2013. A double cut NMFSH with black canvas scales.
Hope I can contain myself but seems unlikely as I have committed to two more...

My first Busse was actually two. I ordered a Basic 7 and a Basic 9 from AG Russell in 1999 or early 2000. Still have both!

I made a big stink about a couple scratches on it from the guy I bought it from and posted a bad deal thread here in the GBU because he said he'd take it back and then wouldn't when it came down to it (looking back if I would have kept it, I could have held onto it and sold it now [yeah right!] and made a *significant* profit). At that time there was a "popularity" or "honor" ranking system back then with the little green and red tiles and I got flamed pretty bad. Once you go red on one of those systems, you get flamed regardless and it snowballs. I ended up selling it shortly after, before I left for the military, to someone on another forum.

Instead of saying I didn't want it because of scratches, which is looked down upon (and easily fixed with a spa trip it it bugs you that much!), I told him it was "too nice for me", trying to be nice and not get flamed for complaining about scratches and... yeah, bad move... but I'm young, stupid and socially awkward...

I ended up leaving BF and didn't come back until after I got out of the military.

So, to anyone who was around and remembers that incident, I'm sorry and I'm ready to admit and own up to it.

The first Busse I got after I got out of the AF and had the money was a TankBuster in maybe 2008/9 because I had always wanted to be a A-10 mechanic when I was in (stupid recruiter told me I would and I ended up working on F-15s) and I was more of a collector than a user back then. I still have the knife, then I saw a CGFBM here and joined back... That tile system is gone, which I like...
 
My first was a Basic 5 ordered from an advertisement in Blade Magazine in 1998 I think. Still have that same knife and still carry it—one of my favorite day hiking blades for 15 years:

My first Busse was a CG AD Black blade and Black Micarta handle. I still have it and it travels in my Saddle bags of my Harley where ever I go!
