I just recently found my first knife while cleaning out the closet.
A little colonial. My Dad gave it to me when I was a wee lad.

my first "real" knife was a Buck 110, and i lost it deer hunting...boo

SAK classic that was green and missing the shield. Friend of my moms gave it to me. Then I believe it was a Schrade 120t, which I still have (but no longer use).

My first knife was a little red plastic knife with a corkscrew that I bought from the gas station when I was 6 or 7. I remember it was like $5 and I had a bunch of change saved from picking it up around the house. I saw the little display and was absolutely in awe. I wanted a pocket knife so bad. I went up to my mom and pulled on her shirt and asked if she would get it for me if I gave her the money. She said yes. I then counted out the money in change and gave it to her. She picked it up from the display and paid for it, then handed it to me. I was so proud of my little pocket knife.

My first "real" knife was a Kershaw Nerve.

My very first was a little black plastic single bladed slip joint with a Canadian maple leaf inlay that I got as a souvenir while visiting my grandparents on the Canadian border. I couldn't have been more than 4 or 5 years old. After that if was a few SAKs and other tradionals given to me as gifts or picked up as souvenirs on vacation. Everywhere we went on vacation when I was a kid I always got a knife as a souvenir. Some were crappy Pakistan made lock backs with multi colored wood handles (8-12 year old me though they looked cool), some were decent knives like victorinox and schrade old timer slip joints. Needless to say, things have changed, but I still always keep my eyes open for a good knife shop while on vacation, ya know, to get my souvenir.

it was about 12-13 years ago but i can't remember which buck i got first. my first decent quality knife was either a buck 110 or a buck protege.

nice man!, that story was similar to my colt! hopefully mine will last long enough to be able to give to my kid 0_0

My first knife was a camp knife. When I say a camp knife, I mean one of those kind that had a fork, a spoon, and a knife blade with cheesy plastic liners that looked like scales on Case knives. All the utensils developed a patina on them without seeing any action....lol

Probably my Scout knife that I was issued (remember when the scouts were issued knives and were attached to the military?) when I was 6 or so. I no longer have it. But it was similar to this:

Probably why my EDC is a Vic Soldier:

There were two, both Gerbers. The trusty EZ Out, and my father's shop knife, which as best I can tell is descriptively named the "Folding Hunter".

The EZ Out didn't leave my side for several years, and the Hunter was the first knife I ever restored. Also the comfiest knife in my case!

My first knife was a Spyderco Tenacious that my little brother bought me for Christmas. Ever since I've been hooked like a fish.
