your first knife!

A little silver Imperial that I got from my uncle when I was probably 7. Wish I still had it.

The first knife I bought was a Benchmade 710. Before that was a steel lockback piece of junk that I found and shortly lost (no pocket clip).

Here's mine. Got it in a Dollar Store years ago and still use it on boxes and packages. I just didn't carry knives until I got this thing, and the lock worked so well that I decided to invest in a better one.

The second one wasn't much better!

My first knife was a slippie my dad got me when I was 11. It was kinda cheap and I didn't like that it didn't take much to close it so I never carried it. My first real knife didnt come around until I was 18 when I bought my Benchmade skirmish. Still one of my favorite knives of all time.

My first knife that I bought and got me into knives was a 2010 model Recon 1 from Cold Steel, I still have it and I will probably upload a picture of it to this thread later.

ZT 0350 that my gf at the time bought me.

Upgraded and replaced by an HTM Gunhammer.

I don't have my first knife anymore, it was a Victorinox Huntsman that my parents gave me when I turned 10. But I still own my second knife and it was my first single blade knife, a Friedrich Herder that my mother gave me at the age of 15. The same knife as my father and grandfather carried and my father still carries his one. Mine is almost 20 years old now.

I had a lot of knives as a kid, given to me by relatives or bought myself with money I saved from birthdays or earned delivering newspapers. My very first knife was a Richards (of Sheffield) 'Little Chief' slip-joint, given to me by my uncle when I was about 5. Richards knives were very common in England back then, but absolute junk. My 'Little Chief' had a small spear-point blade, and a screwdriver/bottle-opener. I had other pocket-knives, all slip-joints at that time, and a couple of WW2 'jack knives' my grandfather gave me. My first FB was an old paring knife my mother gave me out of the kitchen-drawer, my dad put a good sharp edge on it at work and my mum made me a leather sheath for it. I carried that on my belt from the age of around 7 and it was a very useful knife. Later I would buy sheath-knives and lock-knives, often like the other boys, on school field trips. We were even all given a knife each on a school trip to a local cutlers. How times have changed!

My first knife was probably one of those Mora scout knives. It's what kids in Sweden usually got back then, I think. It's a small carbon steel fixed blade with a wooden handle and a steel finger guard.

My first kniveS were chinatown specials like high school butterflies and such. My first real knife purchase was a Kershaw Scallion, it's been downhill from there I tells ya!

My first knife was a Gerber truss 2.0. Loved that knife so much. It was stolen from me when we had our kitchen redone. Need another in my life to bring back the memories. Anyone want to donate lol?

These. Case Sod Buster Jr. and the now famous Saber Original Bowie...rehandled and resheathed long ago. 1970 probably.

It was a no-name, high carbon steel knife that resembled a Buck 119, but with an all-wood handle typical of what you could get in the Philippines. I was in the boy scouts and it's what my dad got for me because we needed it as part of our hiking/camping gear. After that, it was a Buck 110 folder.

I had several Victorinox classics and one schrade oldtimer when they were still US made, but the first one I actually remember edc'ing when i started collecting was a Buck NXT. I gave it to my brother a few years ago. He actually still has it hanging off his keys. I still sharpen it and oil it when ever he drops by.

Had a couple cheapies that crumbled playing in the woods as a kid, but my first "real" knife was a Schrade Firebird. It's a little wobbly at the pivot these days and the edge has receded a bit, but it's still sharp and snaps shut like a champ. Retired it many moons ago before something tragic happened to it.

I can see it it my head still but its LONG gone. It was an inexpensive Imperial folder with cheap green scales and I used it for everything out in the woods when we went backpacking in junior high. That was in the late 60's. Cleaning fish, wood prep for fire starting, food prep and all the other stuff you use it for. Not sure what happened to it but my BIL gave me a Buck 105 with a black custom sheath and I was in heaven! Now that's a knife. Still love em!!
