your first neck knife

My first was Boker Specialist although I did not carry it as a neck knife. Then Boyer Mini tanto (I do not recommend). I am hoping to buy Crawford's tanto neck knife in satin one day

Some Knife Pix

My first neck knife was one I made from 5160 in 1993. I had saw one in a magazine somewhere and thought that would be just great. I carried it point down till I found out about Kydex and you know the rest of the story. I now have about 8 different designs for different circumstances. Ray Kirk www.tah-usa.net/raker

My first neck knife was an Outdoor Edge Wedge. My second was a Livesay Woo. My third one was an ATS34 Rekat Hobbit Fang........

A Newt Livesay "Little Bugger".
Haven't bought another one yet. But I may here soon.

First neck knife was the Emerson La Griffe. Have been happy with it despite the fact that the blade tip was slightly deformed on arrival. The problem was corrected with a little stone work.
Have recently acquired a Livesay NRGS and am pleased with it also but find it just a shade heavy and long.

My first was a Mad Dog Frequent Flyer, and I loved that knife, because it was the first knife I ever bought that I could carry on an airplane- not that I would ever dream of carrying a knife into a restricted area, but if I did......
And, yes, I have bought others because of it.

Simonich Hawksbill Cetan. Haven't seen the need for another one....yet.

First was a REKAT Fang. Then an Emerson Lagriffe. Now I mostly carry my new Woo from Livesay.

Snoopy,
Isn't the Livesay NRGS a G-10 blade?? I saw the rivets on the sheath and was wondering. Or is the NRGS the steel version of a NRG?? Too many knives, and my brain is too small to keep them all apart.

Why yes the NRGS is a steel blade. Just checked Mr. Livesay's web page.

My first neck knife was a Bud Nealy Pesh Kabaz(spelling?) Well anyway it definitly got me interested in customs and kydex.I don't have any neck knives right now however I had bought a custom neck knife after I sold my nealy.I actually prefer waist carry inside the waist being my favorite.I feel it allows for a quicker draw than with the neck carry.Plus I really didn't like having a knife hanging from my neck. The main advantage with the Nealy knives is his multi-position carry, very good because you change the method of carry depending on your clothing or tactical situation.I carry a custom Meerdink Phase Three fighter. Thanks,RS

My first neck knife was a Livesay Woo which I hated so I got a REKAT Fang which was also terrible. Finally I got an Emerson LaGriffe which I love and I wear often.

My first neck knife was a Hobbit Fang that I still carry. My wife carries one also and when my daughter gets old enough I've got one for her too.

Take care,

Mike

My first was a 1095 tanto-bladed piece that I made in high-school back in '87. My next was a stiff Kiss that didn't feel quite right either. I ended up wrapping the handle in the hartsfield style including the resin and the feel improved 1,000%. I gave it to my father last year. Yesterday, my wife gave me the CRKT bear claw. I love it! My version is plain edged and wickedly sharp after a pass or two on my diamond hone. IMHO, it smokes La Griffe in value(subjective) and in usable edge length. The palm-filling handle is great and removable with the acompanying torx head wrench. Being the gadget-guy that I am,

I can tell you, you'll have fun with this one at 1/2 the retail price of the Emerson.
Also, if you reverse the grip, you've got yourself a Kerambit! (10 on the cool meter).
Try it, You'll like it.

My first was a Polkowski Bodyguard. It was too thick and heavy to be carried that way. I then bought a Wicked Woo and G45. Both these knives have worked out very well, especially the G45. I also bought a Stiff Kiss recently. It is fine but, as my wife is quick to point out, I have only one neck. Sooooooo, the Stiff Kiss resides in my desk drawer and functions quite well as a letter opener.

My first was a Cold Steel Para Edge and, before I even used it, I bought a custom from Joseph Bailey of Nashville at the Timonium, Maryland show. Red and Blue G10 handles and a Kydex sheath. Liked it so much I gave the Para Edge to my brother for Christmas. As for more, I only have one neck (but many pockets).
