Your First Photo of a Slipjoint

Spend most my time looking at other peoples pictures :) -- 1st photo attempt (Late Nov 2015 ).

My first one was only a couple weeks ago. Until I visited Shepherd Hills Case store I thought all I ever needed was a Buck 110 and a utility knife. Now I'm hooked.
Anyway, I'm no stranger to photography and one of these days I'm going to actually put in some time and effort and do some studio shots.

I remember this photo when you posted it. Yes it is a dandy!
Thanks. My problem is that when I’m at work with good light and scenery, I’m not thinking about taking knife pictures. When I am thinking about pictures, I’m usually at home in a poorly lit garage, so most of my pictures are not that great.

Cool thread Darren.:thumbsup::)

This was the first photo I posted on the Porch, I think.

(If you can see past the PB logo blasted all over it, now.:rolleyes:)

They’re Swedish made EKAs, from a thread about all steel traditionals. The top knife is a lockback, but the bottom is a slipjoint, as you asked for.;)

My “craft” remains entirely unhoned. I just hold the knife in my left hand while snapping the photo with my right.

When it comes to the photographic arts, I am a Philistine.
I'm with ya "Brother"

OK, Darren, you asked for it!:D Here are the first knife photos I ever took, on August 22, 2014, about a month after I officially joined BF. The subject is my first ever pocket knife, a Colonial Forest-Master I got about 1960. I taped the knife to the front of my "day-planner" and held it in front of the camera built into my MacBook. I think I actually posted the second of these on BF!

Less than 2 weeks later (9/3/14), here's the Forest-Master captured on the kitchen table by my wife's iPad:

About a month later (11/4/14), I used a digital point&shoot to take this:

Not much change since then. :D

Apparently this is the first one I attempted to upload, needed help like many others new to the forum on how to do it. Not to shabby, but most of my earlier pics was in poor light on my kitchen table. Didn't take long looking around to want to up my game so to speak. Then I found taking and sharing pics is a whole other facet of this hobby to enjoy!

This is the first one I have on my Imgur account, so it would have been the first one I’ve posted on this site. I won this Cocobolo 73 STL in a GAW by @lambertiana and it’s actually what kicked off my appreciation for traditionals in general.

I think Imgur deleted some of my older ones, though. Because I swear I took a picture of a Buck 303 before this, but it’s not on there anymore.

This was my first pic posted, in Jan of 2016...LOL! While I had always photographed landscapes, I was completely ignorant of how to approach still life / product photography.
My knife photography took a quantum leap when I realized that a folding diffuser would eliminate the reflections on the blade.

Wow! Time flies! I'm sure there are earlier ones, but I managed to find this pic with a 10/19/2010 date.
I was around this forum for 6 years before that, so I'm sure there are earlier. I'm just not patient enough to keep looking.
