Your FIRST Spyderco

My first Spyderco was a s/s, plain-edge Delica. If I remember right, I got it in 1994.
I still have and love it.
Of course, I also love the
Dragonfly
Wegner
Navigator
Calypso
Police and many others.
Bill

My first Spyderco was also my first real knife - Endura plain-edge. How I loved that knife. Got a years' use out of it before losing it in a warehouse.

I bought an Endura '98 a week later, and haven't looked back since.

My first Spyderco was a Michael Walker Liteweight, and a "Q" with New York cut through the blade, (that one was for my wife). I bought them last year at the New York Custom Knife Show. My first knife show, my first Spydercos', I've learned alot in this last year, but that Walker Liteweight is still my everyday carry knife.

My first one arrived Friday. A plain-edge Starmate. I may have finally found a factory edge that I could live with.

Nah, I'll sharpen it!

440V is really cool!

Executive model bought in the 80's. The instant after my thumb went into the hole and opened the blade I reached for my wallet. I was hooked. Haven't been without a Spyderco (or several) since.

My first Spydie I received on my birthday - Sept. 29, 1999 (that's right just a few days ago!): the plain edged Military! What a blade!!! Now I'll have to get the serrated as well! (And the Wegner, and the Native, and the LTWT Calypsos, and ...!)

Spyderedge Delica, skinny clip! I carried it every day I went to the field and even used it to cut through a 4 inch gorgon's-knotted Kevlar tie-down strap with one swipe. The drillers kept asking for "that McGyver knife" for the rest of that project.

I carried the knife every day until I got my Bob Terzuola, anodized Al.

Take care,

Mike

My first Spyderco was Howard Viele serrated:

I wanted it because:

1. It is a custom collaboration.
2. I still think it's the best looking Spydie.
3. It has the 3 Spyderco trademarks: Opening Hole, Serrations and clip.

C5 standard ss.handle (integral-clip) serrated. I bought it on april 22nd 1989.
I carried it, but my first spydie-user was a c15 Bob-T.

My first Spydie was the SS Police to which I have referred elsewhere. It is a wonderful knife and has served me well. I have gone on to others, but I still find myself returning to it occasionally. My next was a C15 Bob T. and then a C19 Bob T.

Fully serrated delica with blue handle. got it in '94. Still carry it daily as a backup to the wenger jr.

My first SpydercoS (two came in at the same time) are the Wegner and the Endura. Then came the Military, then the BF Native, and lastly, the Starmate.

Happy to say, that my Military (2nd one) is now enjoying its new owner, RJ Talas.

I'm eyeing the Bob Lum Tanto folder, too...

Maybe that's my next target.

First Spydie was a Ladybug -- I wanted something light enough to sit in the pocket of a suit or sports coat, without being noticeable. At the time, I knew nothing about Spyderco, but that little knife sold me on Spyderco quality. Three more Spydies since, and another two on order as I type.

Mine was a Delica - purchased it in '95 and had it for two years. It was the first quality pocket knife I bought (Victorinox doesn't countright?). I broke it in '97 and have yet to forgive myself...
