Okay if you had to sell all your Buck knives except one which one would you keep?
I would probably keep my first Buck I bought. The one that I used the most from squirrels to deer and everything in between. A 112 I bought from the local hardware. It went everywhere with me for probably 12 years. The only knife I really owned for that time frame.
If you look it shows 1987 but there is a dot after the stamp. As you can see it’s been well used. I have way better but it’s sentimental of knowing what that knife and I have been through.

Mine would be the sentimental one. My Son gave it to me in 2007 and it was the very first knife I ever owned that was not just a tool. It started my long slide into cutlery oblivion. Bone covers installed by Muskrat Man (Kaleb Reynolds).

I always kind of appreciate these kind of mental exercises. Sure glad we don't actually have to put them in practice - yet. I don't have any deeply sentimental Buck knives, but I do have a some I have worked over and put to good use over the past few years.

I have some favorite 112's that I have rescaled and being practical, that would be the size I should choose. But I primarily carry a 110 so it would have to be one of them. My knee jerk decision would be my CS magnacut/walnut 110, but I could always replicate that in the future. So if I had to keep just one, it's the one I have with me on more often then not. I rescaled it a couple years ago with some very old micarta - what pat9198 pat9198 so aptly named "Matrix" micarta. It's the one I would keep if I had to sell everything else.

I have to confess though, I would give my wife a heck of a deal on some of my other favorites...

Well, it's tempting to pick my V5V4 two-dot 110 that I bought while in the Navy and that has been with me for 50 years now, but from the standpoint of the one I think I'll enjoy using the most i'll have to pick the Web Exclusive 112 drop point that arrived just yesterday. Utility over sentiment, I guess. 🤔

Depends on why I'm down to only one. If it's because of the zombie apocalypse, I'd pick something like a 108 Froe, 060 Hoodlum, or 808 Talon. As a downsized retired gentleman I'd pick some form of a 110 lite. Upper knife is a 110 Slim Select as an example.

Can I just sell a kidney instead ?

Honestly for me it's much easier to pick the Buck knife that I would sell than to only pick one that I wouldn't.
Do I keep the 110 I got for graduating high school, my favorite 305, the yellow 305 I was gifted, my 1st CKS order, engraved knife to commemorate my last pitty pup, I can't choose.
I don't actually sell though, any good knives I'm not using I mostly gift but sometimes trade.
