The new 2010 Voyager... That delay really sucked, especially since they moved away from VG-1 as well. But even with AUS-8 I am still very excited for the knife.

No offense taken ;) Diff'rent strokes. . .

That latest design was an evolution from the earlier Yojimbo design of Michael Janich. The "box-cutter analogy" has long been described even with that earlier model. Some like it, some don't. It also looks like a past model Janich designed for Black Hawk called the Be-Wharned

Honestly as well, those smaller folders you posted seems to be more for EDC cutting rather than with features enhanced or refined for SD. It you've handled a folder and have to deploy it under extreme stress, you'll know what I mean.

To understand a particular design though, one has to peer into the particular designer's philosophy, rationale and background. As someone who who's been a long-time martial artist (including FMA) and has a bit of an inkling in design and human factors, plus appreciates Janich's pragmatic and analytical approach to SD for several years, I "get" the design.

Yea looks like a be wharned with a spyderhole. Im a big fan of the be wharned and the original yojimbo, this one looks amazing. On the subject of esee folders anyone know if hest folders are still available and if so where. and the msrp...

The only one I'm looking forward to getting my grubby paws on right now is the Translucent Blue Spyderco Manix 2. I got a couple months to wait though.:(

Most anticipated....my first custom...currently in the works by a local maker. Design inspired by the makers hunter model....XM18, Burger Knives Large EXK, Strider and it all started in search of a Spyderco Military....

Hard to pick just one...

I'd say the ZT0550, the Kershaw Knockout, and the ESEE-3 folder are definitely my top 3.

Agreed,

Add:

Protech TR4
Dpx HEST F
Spyderco Manix 2 Sprint runs ( see Spyderco board)
Spyderco LionSpy whatever or its called
Sypderco Titanium anodized and fluted Military
Microtech Socom Elite ( if they sell it unserrated)

That my budget pretty much blown!!!!!

Still waiting for a ZT 0551 and looking forward to a Spyderco Native 5 in G10 and S35v steel when they are available. Interesting, if you look at the Spydie price guide for 2011, it's the only knife who's price is listed as TBD. Wonder what that's all about. Anybody have any info on that?
