Your Most Expensive Production Knives

That is a beautiful knife and if it makes you happy it’s a bargain regardless of the price.

P.S. That’s a weird reflection there on the tip(unless it is painted it black)🤔

I think that’s a reflection of a tree branch messing up my picture!

My most expensive production knife? That is easy, my CRK Mnandi.

Love that knife. Recently saw that wait times are 6 years!

This thread really sent me spinning, thinking, "Do I really wanna' go dig through all my stuff and try to figure-out which ones are the most expensive?" I decided on, "No."

A little while later, I went to leave the room and looked-up on the bookshelf. Viola! I honestly believe that the two on the outside ends are my most expensive...both Busse's as it turns-out.

An ASHBMLE and a Hog Gemini... (*I believe the Kryptek pattern on the latter makes it a "Nuclear" model)

Those look bad ass on display like that. Easy access to them as well. Try as I may, I cannot not hold my favorite knives at least 5 times a day. I’m a child at heart.

Thank you. I looked for months for a simple "display" mount when I found those. I really love 'em. Unlike you, I keep those about 10 feet off the deck. The thought of a cat burglar putting that Battle Mistress straight through me, and three inches into my mattress (*as I slept), wasn't appealing to me.

However, somewhat like you, I pick a different fixie every day, to sleep with me, my Dan Wesson "Specialist", and my puppy-dog. Going to the knife storage every day is like going to Toys-R-Us.

EDIT- Since it's a pic thread, my Todd Hunt "Big Bear" wasn't exactly cheap, but I don't know if it's considered a "production" blade...

Most "expensive" based on purchase price or estimated current value?

Highest purchase price: Zero Tolerance 0600 - Sprint Run - 2012 Blade Magazine: Collaboration Of The Year - ZT & RJ Martin

Highest Estimated Current Value: Kershaw Tilt (4001) - 2010 Blade Magazine: American Made Knife Of The Year.

However, after checking on ACK & EB, it seems that my Microtech Halo V may currently be worth more than the Tilt. So, I added it to the pic above because they're both in the same price range, give or take a few $'s.

Those display mounts sure are nice (as are you knives). Can i ask where you found them?

Thank you.

Brian has an Etsy shop (*"BrianHillWoodworks") I would give you a link, but think that's a no-no. (*I have no connection to him)

*They're simplistic, functional, and reasonably priced, and I think you'll love 'em...and he even makes 'em in three sizes.

I've been pretty lucky at finding really great deals on currently manufactured, discontinued, and vintage knives. Well, actually... a lot of that was more than luck, my putting in a lot of search and patience in order to score on those better deals.

With that said, not everything I've wanted to buy could be had at a preferred deal, sometimes needing to pony up a wee bit more than I would have liked.
I believe the following have been the most I have paid for on knives that were still available on the primary market when I purchased them...

And the following are the ones I believe I paid most for on the secondary markets for discontinued/vintage knives...

The combined pictured knives shown above amounted to my paying just over $4,000 total to acquire them.
Even so, most of them were had at a price that was at least a fair or better price for them at the time I acquired them.
