I uuuhhh...so, like, did those girls get chopped up or what? This thread sure went to a dark place!

Maybe you should try an axe, or a splitting maul...no reason to let that little log defeat you any longer than it already has. Maybe I'm very much mistaken; but it doesn't look THAT tough, and you're supposed to be hardcore. 10+ yrs, and still there...have you at least been able to get your knife free?

You must not spend much time too far from the trails. I've been off the trails for many years and never, not a one time seen someone carrying an axe or maul in the woods. Now online is a different story. It's easy to say stuff like that. I know a few people with far superior knives in the $400.00-$500.00 range that rarely get unsheathed on the trails, but they only do day hikes. For all they know their blade will snap in half if they actually use it.

How about this. Go grab your most expensive knife you got, and I know you got one, that's superior to the Glock knife and split some wood. Never mind the maul and axe. Do a light 6 or so miles (one way) first. Then make a fire from a tree you cut up a couple years ago that fell across the trail.

Not even twisted hard oak can stop the Glock.

11 years, three deployments, one real life survival situation, years of camping, hunting, hiking, fishing, do everything you expect from a knife and more you wouldn't, and you think you are going to tell me what's right to use, or come close to convincing me? You just made my day. maybe I should buy a show knife, do the work with the Glock and take pics with the super expensive exotic steel in its place with a nice shiny polished blade like many other online works of art I see often.

You seem to have totally missed the joke in my post. I thought it was pretty obvious; but, then again, I already knew what I meant. It was nothing against your knife, or your skills...nothing derogatory at all, in fact. Hope your response made you feel better, though.

You gonna start prospecting? You should sell that Rolex and buy a bike!

Too busy with AA and other things... showing my love is as far as its gonna go.

Maybe a wink next time.

I still want to see your expensive knives.

Boris it was a joke brother! What he meant was that it could be misunderstood from your original post that you have been trying to split that same log with that same knife for over a decade.
He knew you hadn't been. It was just a joke man. I thought it was pretty funny! And hey, I'm with you. I like seeing expensive knives hacking stuff up too.
Now, we all have to decide - is this thread supposed to be "hardcore" pics (as in NOT hardcore at all, and thus ironically funny), or is it supposed to be actual HARDCORE pics (and thus not really funny at all, but still awesome in their own right)?

I agree. ;)

I just needed a wink in his axe reply.

Now I need to go find a carrot and slice it with my ceramic folder and post a pic. Or some cheese, I hear cutting cheese with ceramic is an iffy task.

I'm 48 yrs old, I don't need to lay them out for comparison...nor do I want/need anybody's approval of my choices. I'll apologize for my attempt at humor; but you shouldn't let yourself get wound so tight - it's only Tuesday.

Edited to add - apparently this didn't post before I got up to get a drink, and a couple of posts went in during my absence.
AntDog was correct - that was what I was joking about, and, yes, I knew that wasn't what you meant by your post (hence the "joking" part)

Both! Humor and blade hardcore-ness :)

Girls? No humans were harmed in the making of these pics--just fed. ;) These were posted in the spirit of the "tactical kitchen" posts in the thread... I posted one of a butterfly too...

You see the three pics you posted, right? One of them is a pic of four teenage girls. That's why I was asking. It was kind of meant to be a joke. I'm guessing you mislinked one of your pics.

Everyone else sees the four girls, right?

Is that your grandmother with the Cattaraugus Quartermaster you costumed/refurbished? Wow It would be interesting to hear the story behind that picture CM. Was it your grandfather's 225Q? If so, that is one hell of a picture. Kudos on that one.

Don't see any girls in the post at the moment.

Pretty sure we're all harmless knife nerds here anyway. ;)
