Your most loyal knife.

My old CRKT M-1602Z. When the m-16's first came out, they blew my mind. There was a tab on the front of the blade that acted as a flipper for the knife! I thought this was just the most genius thing I had ever seen. I got the zytel model for my 16th birthday and carried it for ages until I got a real job and upgraded to the aluminum one (I gave the zytel one to my sister or I'd show you how beat up it is). Years and years of use. I upgraded to a mini griptillian from the old Cove cutlery in RI before it (and most all knife dealers in RI) died, which was promptly stolen and went back to it. It's sort of why I prefer tanto style blades where most can;t stand to use them. Not the best knife ever, but it was the one that suited me at the time. Newer models are kinda cheap feeling, or is it just me?

How loyal can a knife be?

If you lost it, and someone else found it, it would serve them just as well as it served you. And unlike a dog that might travel hundreds of miles to be reunited with it's owner, a knife isn't going to make the least bit of effort to get back to you. It isn't going to care how heartbroken you are over it's loss. And it isn't going to care how much money you spent on it or how well you took care of it.

And if you make a mistake with your knife, it won't hesitate for a second to cut you. Perhaps even cut you so badly that you need stitches or surgery. And it won't feel the least bit sorry.

Knives aren't loyal, they're whores. They'll cut for whomever picks them up, and if you're not careful, they'll cut you too.

:D

Would have to be my SMF that I've been using since 2009. Longest running so far.

A toss up between Victorinox Climber and Benchmade 940. Both so rad, dependable, and have been with me the most.

Nice.

I'll have to post a picture of my SAK (my second most loyal). When we moved, I packed it in a box with some other outdoor stuff and we are still unpacking stuff!

SAK Victorinox SwissChamp in leather with a steel (same knife, leather, steel as previously posted by Kwon Kwang).

If qualifier states can only have one blade/tool & it's gotta fold ... would say my daily carry PM2 or Military.

dwong,

That's a great looking knife.

Is that a Terzuola C 19? Or is it a Starmate?

thanks,
Kevin

My Kershaw Shallot in stainless..It doesn't open as quickly as it once did, and its dull as hell, but I've had it for 6 years and I can't seem to lose it, only to be replaced. It's not used very often anymore but takes up a spot on in my dresser top box.

This one is mine...
I really admire and treasure this knife...Brad Southard AVO, I could best describe it as the "medium" CRK Sebenza that was never produced.

Not quite sure how to interpret loyal...

Perhaps my Busse Tank Buster... or Ka-Bar Black Tanto... Fällkniven A1.. Inkeroinen Puukko...

As for folders... Benchmade small Griptilian... GEC Sunfish... Leatherman Charge Ti... Lionsteel SR-1
